Perrenial collaborator JJJJound has again teamed up with ASICS to release a two-colour GT-2160 sneaker line-up (White/Black, Black/Pure Silver) that’s decisively minimalist in both configurations. It follows the pair’s 2022 smash-hit ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14, which will go down as one of the greatest sneaker collaborations of the decade and is still highly sought-after on the secondary market today.

Set to release in Australia on November 2nd, 2024, via ASICS.com/au, with a retail price of AUD$230, the JJJJound x ASICS GT-2160 will be highly sought-after. While we don’t have word on the exact number of sneakers available in our market, previous releases tell us this will be extremely limited.

Staying true to the Montreal design studio’s minimalist style, both colourways could be confused for general release ‘GR’ models. In fact, the only feature that hints at this being a collaboration is the JJJJound logo on the heel, but that’s exactly how JJJJound likes it.

The White/Black colourway features white inline mesh with grey overlays, reflective details, and Safety Yellow accents. By contrast, the stealthy Black/Pure Silver colourway utilises reflective mesh on the heel, Pure Silver accents, and a fully black aesthetic. We’re certain the White/Black colourway will be the most sought-after as it most closely resembles the famous ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 collab.

While the sneaker is likely to become a collector’s item for most, the GT-2160 model is one of our favourites in the brand’s line-up. We’ve struggled to take off our pair of the Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS GT-2160s, and this JJJJound collaboration will continue that tradition of comfort with the iconic wavy forefoot sculpting and segmented midsole structure, combined with GEL technology for advanced cushion.

The JJJJound x ASICS GT-2160 will be released in Australia on November 2nd, 2024, via asics.com/au, with a retail price of AUD$230.
