Salomon Sportstyle XT6 Celebrates 10 Years in Fiery Red
Just weeks after the release of their fan-favourite XT6 RECUT collection, Salomon is honouring 10 years of one of maybe its most famous trail running silhouettes with the release of a ‘Fiery Red’ XT6 colourway imagined by the original designer Benjamin Grenet. The shoe is to release in Australia on the 28th of March, at Salomon.com.au, and Up There Store.
The silhouette itself dates back to 2013 when the XT6 was released as part of the S/Lab technical running range. Today, it’s targeting a different audience since it was re-released in 2018 and has garnered a cult-like following amongst traditional sneakerheads more than the trail running range.
Salomon XT6 ‘Fiery Red’ Release Information
The theme of the Salomon XT6 ‘Fiery Red’ is authenticity. Taking inspiration from the original silhouette with specific branding details and material finishing imagined by original designer Benjamin Grenet.
We’re big fans of the EVA midsole construction with a translucent finish alongside the Agile Chassis System (ACS) that we’ve come to love on our personal pair. Unlike sneakers such as the Nike ACG Mountainfly, the Mud Contagrip outsole stands up to tougher conditions, while the dual-density midsole creates a strong footbed. The Quicklace technology remains with ‘lace-garage’, although we prefer to let them hang.
A very limited sneaker, @bryandiaz of Salomon has earmarked 804 pairs in existence via his Instagram. However, it’s unclear if this is a number representative of the global release. Nonetheless, expect the shoe to sell out quickly when it releases with a special bag and pair of socks for $340 AUD at Salomon.com.au, and Up There Store on the 28th of March, 2023.
