Demonstrating strength in their newly found partnership, the Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG, Heuer and the German sports car manufacturer Porsche, present the fruits of their collaboration – the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph.
Celebrating both iconic brands for their shared history with innovation and motor racing, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph exudes both precision and performance, the two attributes that propelled both to the heights of their respective industries. Joined at the hip in a brand new partnership, TAG Heuer & Porsche expect to demonstrate what they believe to be the new standards for brand integration.
Describing themselves as “disruptors at heart,” TAG Heuer CEO Frederic Arnault believes this new partnership “will create unmatched experiences and products for customers and fans that are passionate about both our brands and what we stand for.”
Echoing his comments, Detlev von Platen, member of the executive board for sales and marketing at Porsche AG, is looking forward to both brands striving to “create some unique, magic moments”.
TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph
When you realise that both brands have shared the iconic name ‘Carrera’ for so many generations, it makes you wonder how TAG Heuer and Porsche hadn’t joined forces already. Clearly, a natural starting place for both the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph is a tribute to a shared heritage. A heritage bound by their experience on and off the race track. Producing a brand new chronograph that both Porsche and TAG Heuer can be proud of; this watch is a first glimpse at what they can achieve together.
They call it an exquisite example of coordination, cooperation and collaboration. We call it absolutely stunning. Picking up the TAG Heuer’s Carrera Sport Chronograph design, Porsche throws in a whole lot of their design essence, seamlessly blending both brands in horologic harmony. Sporting a distinctive tachymeter scale engraved on Porsche Design’s bezel also covers itself head to toe in Porsche colours. With plenty of red, black and grey, it not only celebrates everything Porsche but also recalls historic Heuer models of the past.
Our favourite feature is the asphalt effect on the dial created, especially for the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph. Perfectly expressing both brands passion for the road, the addition of Arabic numerals give the nod to the dashboards inside of fine Porsche sportscars.
Inside the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph is the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement with an impressive 80-hour power reserve. Delivered inside bespoke packaging, each watch is handed out with either a soft strap in luxurious calf leather that looks remarkably similar to a Porsche’s interior or an interlocking bracelet that looks as streamlined as 911.
Arriving inside a black watch box features the logos of TAG Heuer and Porsche in white, inside the box, you’ll find your watch and a black travel pouch with an unmistakably Porsche red interior. Nice.
While TAG Heuer and Porsche have only just taken off from the starting line, the race is well and truly on as both brands aim to build on their remarkable foundations.
