Welcome to the latest edition of The Wind Up, our weekly round-up of all the latest watch releases and related news. In this week’s edition, we’ll highlight a range of new watches, including some drops from the LVMH Watch Week. With pieces from the likes of Zenith, Louis Vuitton, and Daniel Roth, along with Greubel Forsey’s latest super high-end masterpiece, I’m sure your horological itch will be scratched for the week. Happy reading, gents, and have a great week ahead.

Greubel Forsey Hand Made 2
- Brand: Greubel Forsey
- Model: Hand Made 2
- Diameter: 40.90mm
- Thickness: 12.80mm
- Movement: Hand Made 2
- Power Reserve: 72 hours
- Water Resistance: 30 metres
- Price: CHF620,000 (Limited production to 2-3 annually)
The Hand Made 2 is a numbers monster. A staggering 96 per cent of its components are made with traditional, hand-operated tools, it takes a whopping 5,000 hours of work to make, and (perhaps most importantly) it costs an eye-watering CHF620,000. The Hand Made 2 is an extension of the Hand Made 2, sans the tourbillon, but, despite its simpler nature horologically speaking, this is a behemoth of finishing and technique.
We’re talking cone-shaped ruby, polished and rounded steel rocks, gears with chamfered spokes, a frosted finish on the main plate, polished bevels, gold chatons and polished screw heads. The Hand Made 2 is a marvel of modern watchmaking and is a reflection of the maison’s pursuit of perfection.

Daniel Roth Extra Plat Souscription
- Brand: Daniel Roth
- Model: Extra Plat Souscription
- Reference Number: DBBE01A1
- Diameter: 38.60mm
- Thickness: 7.70mm
- Movement: DR002
- Power Reserve: 65 hours
- Water Resistance: 30 metres
- Price: CHF45,000 (Limited to 20 pieces)
A fitting tribute to the 1990s original, Daniel Roth’s second modern release is the Extra Plat Souscription. Featuring a yellow gold case with a matching yellow gold guilloche dial, the new Extra Plat Souscription is a beautiful timepiece that is very much reminiscent of a design ethos from a generation ago.
The compact nature of the case and its svelte profile add to its allure, while its architectural design again emphasises a period of watchmaking where creativity was at its peak. This is a very beautiful, very delicate affair that seems to be the on-point trend for modern watchmaking.

It was bound to happen, and I’m happy to say it has. Here is the skeletonised version of the highly acclaimed Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph. Available in either a blue or black guise, the new Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton was released as part of 2025’s LVMH Watch Week.
It comes with an integrated steel bracelet and a rubber strap with an easy to use interchangeable system. The Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton is a rather special piece in that it holds the high-frequency 1/10th of a second El Primero 3600 calibre—a lovely bit of kit to watch in action.

Louis Vuitton Tambour Convergence
- Brand: Louis Vuitton
- Model: Tambour Convergence
- Reference: Ref. W9PG11 (pink gold) / Ref. W9PT11 (platinum gem set)
- Diameter: 37mm
- Thickness: 8mm
- Movement: Calibre LFT MA01.01
- Power Reserve: 45 hours
- Water-Resistance: 30 metres
Another LVMH Watch Week highlight, this time from Louis Vuitton themselves came in the form of the highly unique Tambour Convergence. A digital-looking timepiece, the Tambour Convergence is indeed a mechanical watch that uses discs visible under a pair of small windows at the top of the dial to display the time.
This method of time-displaying is not novel, however it is rather uncommon and definitely off-the-beaten track for an esteemed maison like Louis Vuitton. The Tambour Convergence is available in either pink gold or platinum with a snow-set diamond “dial”.
