Game On Cancer Raises Funds for Ground-Breaking Cancer Research
For the fourth year running, Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer initiative, Holiday Spectacular is bringing creators together for a great cause. The annual event, which runs from Wednesday, 23 October to Saturday, 30 November, encourages creators of all kinds to sign up and support the amazing Cure Cancer researchers working to find a cure for all different types of cancer.
This year, gaming brand Razer has jumped on board as a primary sponsor, offering to give away amazing products to those who raise much-needed funds for the campaign. Better yet, the brand is also sponsoring a fundraising team with matched donations. The team, which is captained by Twitch Partner PaladinAmber, will feature some of Australia’s most well-known streamers, who will come together to help share the love.
To date, Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer community, the leading charity initiative in the Australian games industry, has raised over AUD$1.5 million for ground-breaking cancer research. To get involved, simply sign up to fundraise on Tiltify between October 23rd and November 30th, join a fundraising team or fly solo and go live!
Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge Raises $4.7 Million for Youth Homelessness Charity
After shocking the world with his incredible 1,000-mile run in just 12 days, Aussie hero Nedd Brockmann has achieved another milestone. The athlete’s ‘Uncomfortable Challenge’, which encouraged everyday Aussies to embrace discomfort and commit to a personal challenge for 10 days from October 20th – 29th has concluded, raising a whopping $4.7 million for homelessness charity We Are Mobilise.
More than 25,000 participants from more than 20 countries joined the project, completing their own 10-day challenge. Tasks ranged from running and swimming and cycling to ice baths, meditation, community support activities, and many more that pushed people outside of their comfort zones. Importantly, while the majority of participants have concluded their challenge, others will finish over the coming days, so donations are still open. The final mark is nearing $5 million, so get involved and donate today!

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Old Fashioned Week back to Australia once again this year,” said Richard Dredge, Woodford Reserve Senior Brand Manager at Brown-Forman. “And this time, we’re making it even bigger and better than ever.”
Buy a Beer, Do a Good Deed with Felons
To celebrate the launch of Felons Manly, beer lords Felons Brewing Co. have cooked up a crispy new lager that promises to deliver more than just a good taste. The drop, which has been brewed exclusively for the new venue, is a crisp Japanese rice lager highlighted by fragrant notes of fresh lemon and cherry blossom thanks to Saphir and Saaz hops. Best of all, to honour the new waterside location, Felons has partnered with Seabin to help improve the nation’s waterways. For every glass of Japanese rice lager purchased, Felons will provide funds towards the removal of a piece of plastic from Sydney Harbour.
Seabin, the company created by Australian boat builders Andrew Turton and Pete Ceglinski, provides innovative cleaning solutions for natural waterways. Inspired by a swimming pool skimmer box, the Seabin is an automated rubbish bin that collects floating rubbish, oil, fuel and detergents, removing pollutants from marinas, private pontoons, inland waterways, residential lakes, harbours, ports and yacht clubs. With the launch of Felons’s Japanese rice lager, you can help support the project one beer at a time. The Japanese rice lager is pouring only at Felons Brewing Co. Manly. Guests can walk in any time 11am-late.
