Sprinkled with a little bit of friendly competition to make it that extra bit thrilling, Flight Club is the innovative social darts venue concept that is all the rage over in the UK and the USA. Following two successful openings in Perth from NightOwl Entertainment Group, the Sydney venue is the latest expansion, and the Man of Many team recently visited the venue to check it out. To give you an idea of what to expect, picture a blend of high-tech darts, swanky interiors, and world-class food and beverages. It is set within a multi-level heritage building in The Rocks, with a design that perfectly echoes the vibe with a vintage fairground feel and the ambience of a British club frequented by high-flyers.
Flight Club says it “reinvented darts for the 21st century,” so you can expect an immersive and unforgettable experience perfect for a fun night out with friends or for darts enthusiasts looking to up their game.
To play, gather up to 12 of your best mates and try your luck at multiple different game modes. Our favourites include:
- Demolition: Classic game of darts. Finish exactly on ‘0’ or you’re bust.
- Killer: Hit your assigned number three times and become the killer, eliminating players.
- Shanghai: Score points on the target number only. The highest points wins.
- Snakes and ladders: Use the dartboard to roll the dice, land on the champion trophy and win.
- Donkey derby: Hit your donkey’s number to move forward, and the first over the line wins.
Flight Club’s patented dart tracking technology (designed by Flight Club’s astrophysicist) tracks your score for you and creates instant scoring so you can play with ease and efficiency.
“Since 2015, we’ve been fixated on getting fun-loving folk across the UK and US to play social darts, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Night Owl Entertainment to bring Flight Club to Australia,” said Flight Club CEO Steve Moore.
Food-wise, expect a range of sharing options such as pizza and popcorn chicken, or you can opt for a main with a handful of pub classics to choose from. Drinks are just as good as the food—our favourite cocktail has to be the ‘Truimphant Trophy’ with Belvedere vodka, Cointreau, lime, fresh passionfruit puree, cranberry, and lemonade, served in Flight Club’s trophy cup.
“When I first stepped foot into Flight Club in London, I just knew I had to bring it here to Australia. We are on a mission to bring the joy of Social Darts to all Aussies, with plans to expand to Melbourne later this year and additional venues to follow,” said CEO of NightOwl Entertainment Group, David Heaton.
