Porsche Design Soundbar Offers Atmos Speed at a Price

Top-notch performance and stylish good looks are not foreign concepts to Porsche. Those two qualities are being applied to the audio world thanks to the Porsche Design studio. The new Porsche Design Soundbar PDB70 is a high-performing speaker that looks good, mirroring the automotive triumphs the automobile manufacturer is known for.

Modern TVs are getting thinner and thinner with each new design, but that new approach comes at a cost. Unfortunately, one aspect that has been placed on the chopping block in the name of flatness is audio quality. You essentially have to invest in an external speaker system if you want any sort of audio quality while watching your favourite shows or movies.

The Porsche Design Soundbar PDB70 meets that need in more ways than one. The soundbar comes in a stylish shape that measures 33.8 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep and 3.1 inches tall. The soundbar features a straight-edge design festooned in brushed aluminium with a mesh front. Much like their cars, Porsche designed this soundbar to look good in any setting. And, just like their cars, Porsche designed the PDB70 to exceed performance expectations.

Powering this speaker are four tweeters and two broadband subwoofers. The speakers offer connectivity via Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless streaming and through two HDMI eARC 2.1 ports so that you can connect to your TV and other sources. The soundbar also offers Ply-Fi multi-room compatibility, so you can continue your listening experience no matter where you are in your house.

The speaker also supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio support, not to mention also supporting Alexa and Google assistant as well as Apple AirPlay 2. Controlling the soundbar is simple with the included remote control, or you can opt for the touch controls on the soundbar itself. You might expect to have to turn over quite a bit in order to acquire the soundbar, but the PDB70 is comfortably priced at €499 (AUD$730). Not bad for a speaker that offers everything you love about Porsche products.
