With another week behind us, and a weekend to enjoy (even though it’s very wet here in Sydney again), it’s about time for our weekly collection of Man of Many’s favourite things! This week, we’re showing off some Penfolds goodies, a deep dive into Apple’s current crash-out, as well as some product recommendations for the active amoung us. Enjoy!

Penfolds Wine Glass Charms
Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief
When it comes to bold red wine, Australia punches well above its weight, but the heaviest hitter is undoubtedly Penfolds. The iconic label, responsible for revered drops like Grange, Bin 389 and St Henri, is as ingrained in Australian culture as Qantas or Crocodile Dundee, but decidedly more beloved…Sorry, Hoges.
This week, I was lucky enough to get a test run of the winemaker’s stunning 2025 collection, which comprises some of Penfolds’ most exceptional releases. Rich and vibrant reds were contrasted against the criminally underrated Yattarna Chardonnay, playfully weaving a rich tapestry of flavours that are uniquely and unequivocally Australian. And while I could wax lyrical about the remarkable depth of the new collection (I probably will at a later date), one particular highlight came not in the glass, but around it. Take a gander at the new Penfolds Wine Glass Charms.
The recently unveiled drinking accessories are a fun, new way to personalise your wine glass. Arriving in a four-piece set, the collection features charms inspired by Penfolds’ winemaking motifs, covering everything from winemaking heritage to signature storytelling elements, and a complete alphabet for you to select a letter of your choice.
Best of all, the new offering comes in a signature Penfolds gift box, making it the perfect handheld gift to dish up this Christmas. I know my parents are definitely getting a set, provided they bring the wine. The Penfolds Wine Glass Charms are available online and at the label’s Magill Estate Cellar Door, with pricing from AUD$129.

Apple Explained’s History of Tim Cook-Era Apple
Dean Blake – Tech and Entertainment Writer
This week had Gamescom, which delivered a bunch of awesome trailers (plus an actual release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong), as well as Google’s somewhat awkward Pixel 10 phone reveal. But, by far my favourite thing to happen was the release of YouTuber Apple Explained‘s almost half-an-hour breakdown of just what the hell is going on at Apple at the moment.
If you’re enthusiastic about tech like I am, you’ve probably pretty well aware of where Apple is in the market. Here in Australia, it holds about 65% of smartphone users, which is pretty similar to the situation in the US, but questions have started arising around whether the brand has gotten a bit too comfortable with that level of success. Diving into internal emails and public interviews, Apple Explained breaks down the change in trajectory Apple kicked off the moment current CEO Tim Cook took over, and how things shifted for the company moving forward.
None of it is particularly surprising, given how often shareholder value outweighs putting customers first, but it’s nice to have it all laid out in an easily digestible timeline.

Oakley’s Fall Line M Snow Goggles Prizm Snow Sapphire Iridium Lenses
Scott Purcell – Co-Founder
I was recently in Thredbo and if there was one thing that bugged me (fine, call me an idiot), it was that my Oakley lens colour didn’t match my blue jacket and navy pants. I’ve had these for around 7 years or so and they’ve stood the test of time and served me well, but with way too many scratches from trees, safety bars on chairlifts and general tomfoolery, it was time for an upgrade.
I reached out to Oakley to see what their latest range was like and luckily I laid my eyes upon these stunning sapphire iridium lenses, which were blue! Goober no more! I now have all the steeze in the world with a matching set for my jacket!
If you’re wondering why I’m so excited and will back these lenses for anyone looking to purchase a pair of ski goggles, it is simply my personal opinion that they are the best. Instead of just making everything darker like regular sunglasses, Prizm lenses fine-tune the colours you see. They boost the “good” colours that your eyes need for detail and filter out the “bad” or distracting colours. The result is a world that looks more vibrant, with much greater contrast and detail.
On snow, the main culprits are the colours that fall between blue and green, and between yellow and orange. This light acts like “visual static,” making it hard to see texture. Prizm lenses are made with special dyes that are precisely engineered to absorb and filter out these specific “noisy” shades of light. Think of it as turning down the volume on the distracting static.
Disclosure: The author received a pair of Oakley Fall Line M Snow Goggles for the purpose of a review.

SHOKZ OpenFit 2+
Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships
Having used the first-generation Shokz OpenFit, I can confidently say the new model is a massive upgrade. The addition of physical buttons makes everyday use and workouts so much easier, and the fit is very comfortable. I can wear them for hours without any rubbing or discomfort.
Audio quality has also taken a big step forward with Dolby integration, offering a wider soundstage and more immersive music. The only drawback is that podcasts (specifically peoples voices) can sound a little echoey, though it’s easy to toggle Dolby off in the app when needed. The new case is sleek and practical, with a pairing button that makes connecting seamless.
Overall, the Shokz OpenFit 2 delivers real improvements in sound, comfort, and usability. It’s a clear step up from the original.
