They say money can’t buy happiness, but it might get you this €30,000 (approx. AUD$48,000) Saint Laurent Bang & Olufsen Beogram 4000c Series turntable that’s been taken straight from the 1970s and “restomodded” by fashion designer Anthony Vaccarello and Bang & Olufsen, the same audio brand that created them back in the day.
This marks the fifth collaboration between Saint Laurent and Bang & Olufsen, and the designer brands have joined forces to create ten ultra-expensive, high-end turntables that take original Bang & Olufsen Beoplay 4000 series turntables and modernise and refresh them at the B&O home in Struer, Denmark. These units are disassembled manually and then thoroughly inspected to assess each unit’s needs. Once that’s complete, every single component of each Beogram is cleaned, new parts are added, individually tested then fine-tuned, and hand-crafted Saint Laurent elements are applied.
The heart of the unit is then upgraded and taken into the modern era by installing a preamplifier and adding a new pickup cartridge – to make the Beogram easily integrate with its new owners’ contemporary home speaker setup.

The previously released Bang & Olufsen Beogram 4000c Series turntables are nothing to turn your audiophile nose at, but when you add Saint Laurent detailing they enter a completely different league. In this regard, we’re talking about a solid ziricote wood case, individually numbered, with accented aluminium details, and an etched logo to round out the exclusive design.
Spending this much money on a turntable, you’ll want to hope that it works with your speakers, and we’re pleased to say that because of the new pre-amp, it will fully integrate with all contemporary home sound systems.
