The Xbox Concept Microsoft Needs to Take Note Of

Some people might call 3D artist Joseph Dumary a visionary genius, and they wouldn’t be far from the truth. Dumary has put together a trailer for a concept that Microsoft needs to take note of—the Xbox Project Oris. Envisioning Project Oris as your next TV, projector, personal assistant, and revolutionary controller, the trailer is turning heads and getting Xbox fans excited.

Microsoft Oris 1

The Xbox Project Oris looks like a cube with a simple LED strip along its bottom. You might confuse it with a speaker or a subwoofer, and with its Dolby Audio capability, you could be excused for the assumption. But Project Oris does much more than just play music. It can definitely play music—and quite well—thanks to its 3D audio, deep bass, and high fidelity. It also offers Immersound Gaming technology. But this is a full media control centre. No need to connect it to a TV; Oris can provide its own image. On the back of the device is an 8K projector that has daylight features as well as dynamic contrast. It also supports voice assistants and will follow commands related to both Xbox and smart devices.

The controller itself is enough of a reason for Project Oris to go into production. It bears a similarity to a controller for the original Xbox One, but with a screen in the middle where the original logo once resided. The controller comes with a fingerprint touchpad that also checks the player’s biometrics to gauge stress levels and adjust gameplay accordingly. Additionally, it charges wirelessly when sitting in front of the main device. The gaming console would include the usual array of ports on the back should you want to plug it into something else.

Unfortunately, this is just a concept, so, for now, you’ll just have to make do with the 12-teraflop computing power, ray-tracing, 8K resolution Xbox Series X. At least until Microsoft decides to make this concept a reality.
