The weekend is here, and while most of us are off spending time with dear ol’ Mum, we’ve also prepped a few of our favourite things to share with you all today: this week’s Staff Favourites. Each week, we try to show off some things that have brought us some joy in the hopes it’ll help you find your own, and this week we’re showcasing new watches, sneakers, wine, and someone’s house. Well, that’s a new one.

Orbitkey Key Organiser

Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief

Long before hipsters and mullet fans got in on the action, I was a carabiner kid. For the past 15 years, my house keys, gym fobs and office locks have dangled joyously from my waistband, free from the confines of my cargo pants pocket. The only issue is that it doesn’t exactly look classy. Thankfully, the wonderful team and Orbitkey hooked me up this week, sending over a new variation of their much-loved Key Organisers.

This time around, the Aussie success story has switched gears, opting to transform the Key Organiser by adding a touch of luxury with Saffiano leather. The upgraded materials make for a far more impressive visual edge, and I love the gold-toned hardware on the fixed D-ring. After rocking the latest Key Organiser Pro for the last two weeks and I can safely say, my keys have never felt more organised.

Tissot prx powermatic 80 40 mm rose gold pvd

Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 40 mm (Rose Gold PVD)

Rob Edwards – Branded Content Editor

Picking up the blue-dialled, stainless steel Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 a couple of years ago was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I’ve worn it most days since, and I still love its timelessly sporty aesthetic and that waffle-patterned dial.

Now, I’m finding myself tempted by the new rose gold PVD incarnation of the very same watch. While I’ve always preferred a steel look over gold or rose gold, there’s something about this release that really works. Plus, the fact that Tissot has achieved the hue through PVD coating rather than full gold construction means it sits at a nicely accessible AUD$1,335 price point.

New Balance 1906L Snoafers

John Guanzon – Head of Creative & Production

Some people rate them, some people roast them. Either way, it looks like Snoafers are here to stay. I got my hands (feet) on the viral greyed-out 1906L Sneaker-Loafer at New Balance’s Grey Days launch this week, and I’ve got to admit… I wasn’t sure about them when I first saw them, but safe to say that I’m now a convert.

Sure, they’ve caused some heated comments online (loafers? sneakers? both?), but once they’re on, the comfort and silhouette speak for themselves. This limited-edition Grey Days colourway tones things down just enough to make them feel elevated and wearable. Ugly-chic? Maybe. But I’m all in.

Chile's viñedo chadwick cabernet sauvignon

Chile’s Viñedo Chadwick Cabernet Sauvignon’s Punch Well Above

Scott Purcell – Co-Founder

Last Friday, I got out of my comfort zone of Aussie Shiraz and was lucky enough to tuck into a six-vintage tasting of Viñedo Chadwick at Ursula’s in Paddington.

As a confessed, absolute wine novice, I wasn’t sure what to expect as the Chadwick name sounds more like a character from Downton Abbey than something from Chile, and I would’ve been about half right.

The Chadwick clan first decamped from England and Scotland to Chile around 1820, eventually marrying into the Errázuriz winemaking dynasty. Fast-forward to the 1990s, and polo-mad patriarch Don Alfonso had a change of heart – he let his son Eduardo rip up the family’s prized polo field in Puente Alto and plant Cabernet vines in 1992. My pick was the 2021, and despite being the youngest, it had tannins so smooth they could paddle out at Bondi.

If you fancy a crack, Langtons is the only retailer bringing these wines into Australia, and you will need roughly AUD$550 a bottle for the privilege. Treat it like an investment: the structure is built to age happily in the cellar for 15–20 years, and if past blind tastings are anything to go by, it might just humble a few Aussie Shiraz or French Bourdeaux wines along the way.

Disclosure: I tasted these wines courtesy of Langtons at a media lunch at Ursula’s, Paddington.

Bad Songs of the Day on Instagram

Frank Arthur – Co-Founder

Bad Songs of The Day is exactly what it says on the label. This Instagram page is a deep dive into the darkest corners of the internet’s musical archives to curate some of the most hilariously terrible songs ever recorded. If I had to describe it in a sentence, I’d call it auditory self-flagellation. From cringeworthy chart hits that haven’t aged well, to musically talentless trust fund kids who decided they had to make a music video, this page is a goldmine of content that will make you laugh, cringe, and shake your head in disbelief.

My Apartment in Greenwich

Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships

I am truly a foolish human being. My wife is 39 weeks pregnant, and for some reason, this is the moment together we have decided to buy a house. Yes, it’s an insanely positive win, but now I am living with my in-laws with a 2-and-a-half-year-old (another arriving in a week), and I need to sell my apartment all at the same time.

So it’s time to say goodbye to an apartment that I absolutely love. I’ll let the listing do the selling, but if you are in the market for a beautiful, spacious two-bedroom apartment, consider an inspection of mine. My stupid brain and I will thank you.
