New Balance’s 2025 ‘Grey Days’ Exclusives are here, and what better way to celebrate the greatest shade of them all than by releasing a handful of exclusive sneakers? The event will run from now until the end of the month, and there are a handful of sought-after drops that you need to be aware of, including a fresh new colourway of the 1906 Loafer and the Made in USA 1300JP that’s only released once every 5 years.

These top-tier sneaker releases will be joined by handful of new silhouettes, including the new ABZORB 2010 that we’ve been wearing for the last few weeks, a fresh new 471 “Grey Days” colourway, and the new NB Numeric Andrew Reynolds 933 that have been developed alongside the man himself and find inspiration from heritage NB running shoes.

“Whether you’re new to the brand or a longtime loyalist, Grey embodies the promise of everything that sets New Balance apart,” said Brian Lynn, Global Vice President of Lifestyle. “The symbolism of Grey has remained central to the brand for decades, and Grey Days 2025 showcases its diverse appeal. By bringing together an array of our athletes and ambassadors to highlight these exclusive styles, we are honouring the versatility and authenticity that is core to both our heritage and our future.”

  • Release date: 22/05/2025 at 10:00 am AEST
  • Style #: U2010GD

Once the hype around the release of the 1906 loafer calms down, New Balance will drop a fresh new colourway of one of their latest silhouettes, dubbed the “ABZORB 2010.” With inspiration from the 99X Series, the sneaker features a diamond-knit mesh upper, nubuck and synthetic overlays, and all of this is laid over an ABZORB midsole, with ABZORB SBS at the heel and forefoot, hence the name. If you’re shopping for a pair of 1906Rs but can’t seem to land on a favourite colourway, these would be a great alternative. Look for the 2010 Grey Days to release on the 22nd of May from 10 am AEST at newbalance.com.au.

  • Release date: 22/05/2025 at 10:00 am AEST

1970s retro-runners are having a moment, and the unisex 471 is a brand-new silhouette from New Balance that’s here to go toe-to-toe with the adidas SL72. While they’re currently available in a range of colourways, the 471 Grey Days exclusive combines crinkle nylon underlays, hairy suede overlays, and a tasty Arid Stone with Raincloud and Morel colourways. Keep an eye-out for these when they release on the 22nd of May at 10 am AEST.

Legendary skateboarder Andrew Reynolds has worked with New Balance on a new skateboard silhouette that blends premium cushioning, heritage design, and modern technology. Made in USA 1300JP

  • Price: AUD$500
  • Release date: 29/05/2025 at 10:00 am AEST
  • Style #: U1300JP

Released just once every five years, the New Balance 1300JP has become one of the sneaker world’s most sought-after styles. You’d be correct in assuming that the “JP” stands for Japan, where it has become a cultural icon over the last few decades, and stems from the premium running shoe boom of the mid-1980s when high-end shoes like these were performance footwear! While we couldn’t imagine running a marathon in these today, the shoe is full of performance tech, including full-length ENCAP midsole cushioning, a durable polyurethane rim, tread outsole pattern, and woven ‘1300’ tongue label. These will arrive with a *sit down* AUD$500 price tag, and special-edition packaging inspired by the original 1985 box design on the 29th of May at 10 am AEST.
