Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier

Frank Arthur – Co-Founder

With the inundation of craft beers that flooding the market over the past decade, I’ve recently decided to buck the trend and revisit some of the classics. And it doesn’t get more classic than Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan is the parent company and Bavarian brewery self-described as “The World’s Oldest Brewery” with a history dating back over 1,000 years.

The Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier is a pint of cloudy golden goodness. This European-style wheat beer has a smooth slightly bready characteristics, with sweet notes of banana and a hint of vegetal flavour on the palate. If you’re feeling extra-German, it pairs well with a juicy Bavarian Bratwurst.

Vitamix Ascent Series Smart Blender

Denise Barnes – Head of Branded Content

There are blenders, and there is Vitamix. Truly in a league of its own, there is a reason that Vitamix is hailed as the holy grail of blenders. I’ve recently started trialling one and, honestly, I don’t know how it’s taken me this long to get on board. Sure, it is pricier than your average blender, but trust me when I say, it’s so worth the investment. For starters, every Vitamix comes with a 10-Year Warranty that proves it’s built to last. Since having it, I’ve used it almost every single day. It’s incredibly easy to use, and best of all, it’s so easy to clean.

Other than the variable speed control and pulse features, the Vitamix A2500i has 3 built-in programs that make it super convenient as you can chuck in all your ingredients, turn the nozzle to the right program setting, flip the switch and walk away and the blender will deliver consistent results every time. The 3 settings are for smoothies, frozen desserts and hot soup. Yes, hot soup! While I use the smoothie setting almost daily, the hot soup is one of the greatest things about this blender. You can literally chuck in all your fresh veggies and ingredients, flip the switch, and after 5 or 6 minutes, it would have perfectly blended it all and heated it up to the perfect temperature. When have you ever made a delicious, healthy soup from scratch in under 6 minutes?? Life changing. I’m particularly excited about this as we’re heading into Winter.

Finally, remember how I said it’s super easy to clean? I wasn’t lying. After you’ve used it, just add in water and some dishwashing liquid, turn the blender on for 15 – 20 sec, then give it a quick rinse and that’s it. It’s a great, hassle-free way to live a healthier lifestyle and get in all those much-needed nutrients.

Casetify Stainless Steel Monolink Watch Band

Harry Parsons – Branded Content Manager

After recently treating myself to a new Apple Watch I’ve found it to be my go-to watch selection every morning. Whilst the watch itself is packed with features that help with my day-to-day tasks, the included silicone strap does make it glaringly obvious I’m wearing a smartwatch, meaning the watch stays on the bedside table whenever I’m out to dinner or at an event. To spruce up the aesthetic of the watch I invested in a Stainless Steel Monolink watch band from Casetify, I’ve heard a lot about this brand’s top-quality phone cases and this craftsmanship has definitely extended to their watch bands. The band is extremely tough and has withstood many bangs on tables/walls without scratching thanks to the premium 316L stainless steel with a fine brushed finish. In addition to this, the seamless butterfly closure clasp makes the watch very comfortable to sport on my wrist all day and night. The Stainless Steel Monolink Watch Band is available for $162 and is worth every cent.

BentSpoke Brewing Company – Brewers’ Share

Elliott Barsby – Commercial Director

This liquid treat was released to coincide with St Patrick’s Day and takes inspiration from two of Ireland’s most famous beverage exports; the Irish dry stout and the Irish coffee cocktail. BentSpoke, my favourite Canberra brewery, teamed up with Teeling Irish Whiskey to produce Brewers’ Share, a classic Irish-style stout that has been aged in whiskey barrels for 6 months being being spiked with the hard stuff. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I’m a big Guinness fan and this didn’t quite have the same level of creaminess. But it was smooth, well-balanced, and had the toasted malt and coffee notes synonymous with Irish stouts, not to mention a small kick from the whiskey at the end. A collaboration well done and a drink perfect for the cooler winter months. I mean, beer and whiskey, how could you go wrong?

Hyper Karting Sydney

Stuck on ideas for a racy boys’ night out? I was, until I remembered that Hyper Karting Sydney has taken up residence in Moore Park’s Entertainment Quarter car park. While you’ll usually find Sydney’s go-karting experiences around the outskirts of town, this high-octane e-karting experience is just 10 minutes away from the CBD. Once inside, you’ll feel like you’ve stumbled upon a secret underground drag race with its grungy ambiance and 410m-long racing track lit up with bright fluorescent lights. But the real star of the show is the electric-powered go-karts, which offer a cleaner, quieter, and grease-free ride than their gas-powered counterparts and can reach speeds of up to 55kmph. I booked two races with a group of mates recently and can confirm that most of us still have sore traps and shoulders from all the sharp turns and intense focus needed to master the track. One of the plus sides of racing inside an undercover carpark is that it makes for the perfect wet-weather activity! But Hyper Karting Sydney isn’t just for the big kids; there’s also a junior track for kids aged 3-7, making it an ideal family day out. All up, the vibes were high at Hyper Karting Sydney. Lots of groups came dressed up in Mario Kart costumes, punters were getting competitive in some pre-race Daytona at the arcade and the atmosphere was very much electric!
