Bondi eyewear label Pacifico Optical has debuted its first luxury spectacles range, complete with personalised prescription lenses and optional UV sun clip-on accessories.
The 2018 prescription collection is a capsule of the bold and innovative styles the brand is best known for, including the cult-classic Buckler frame, vintage-inspired Carter round-frame and heritage Campbell D-frame.
“It was important to evolve existing styles and develop new pieces for the launch of our first dedicated optical collection,” says Alain Guglielmino, Artistic Director, Pacifico Optical. “The collection is very classic; timeless. The styles themselves are an experimentation in form and proportion, dominant silhouettes derived from the 50’s and 60’s.”
A signature of the Pacifico Optical brand is its polarised clip-on sun lenses, immediately transforming each pair of glasses into a UV protective prescription frame, while maintaining the bold, vintage-inspired look.
Subtle features across the collection include Italian-engineered seven-joint nickel hardware visible at the temples and the brands signature horizon links at the tip of each arm to connect the iconic intrecciato-woven leather cord.
“Optical’s are more and more becoming a part of the fashion vernacular. They’re both functional and statement-making,” adds Guglielmino.
Pacifico Optical’s 2018 prescription collection is manufactured in partnership with trusted speciality manufacturers, Mazzucchelli and Visottica, Italy, and Carl Zeiss Vision, Germany.
The range compliments Alain Guglielmino’s confident, naturally masculine designs such as his recent sunglasses collaboration with Man of Many co-founders Frank Arthur and Scott Purcell. You can find more on those glasses here.
