Italian fashion brand Moncler has opened its first boutique in Sydney at Westfield Shopping Centre, Pitt St, right in the heart of the city. The store is Moncler’s second in Australia, following the opening of a Melbourne boutique in April 2017.
The new retail space covers a single floor of around 130 square meters. The exterior is decorated with white Calacatta marble, grey marble and burnished brass. Two large display windows reveal a welcoming atmosphere. Inside, the decor represents the distinctive codes of Moncler and its heritage.
The boutique houses all current Moncler collections and accessory lines. The latest collection “1952” launched globally at the end of January. 1952 oozes urban zest, as highlighted by large prints featuring stars and letters spelling Moncler.
Devised with artist Hey Reilly, the shapes and materials are functional: zippered jackets, field jackets, parkas, car coats, track-pants and Bermuda shorts come in cotton, nylon or ripstop fabrics. Zippered pockets allow items to be functionally folded and packed; padded collars are another utilitarian detail.
Moncler’s other releases from January include Craig Green’s collection of concepts that explore clothing as wearable habitats inspired by tents and kites.
Plus footwear fans can check out the new Bubble sneakers, built with a bubble support sole of individual ultra-soft rubber islands arranged to follow the shape of the foot.
You can find the Moncler boutique at Westfield Sydney Shopping Centre, Shop 3009, Cnr Pitt St Mall and Market St.
