Watches and motorsports are an ideal pairing, with mechanical excellence and exquisite design being a trademark of both. Cars are a great source of inspiration that watch companies have used over the years with big names like Rolex and TAG Heuer creating some wonderful racing chronographs. Watch manufacturer Autodromo has taken this a step further with its whole identity built around the love of cars.
Now this cult brand has teamed up with Hodinkee – one of the most respected voices in the world of watches – to create a stunning new watch collection. The result, the Autodromo x Hodinkee Group B Rallysport, is full of ’80s chic and pays homage to the golden age of rally racing.

Autodromo is a young brand that creates watches (and driving gloves) strongly influenced by car designs. Its Group B model is a distinctive piece that references one of the last romantic eras of motorsports. It’s an angular watch, very much styled like a display from a car dashboard and is crafted from both titanium and steel. It also sells out quickly.
This stunning chronograph retains the core DNA of Autodromo’s original watch but for the first time adds a chronograph complication. The result is a memorable piece that plays with colours taken from the sport’s most successful liveries. As you’d expect, this is a limited edition model and is available in five colourways, each with 100 pieces.

The watches all have an authentic ’80s vibe and are powered by a Swiss-made Sellita hand-winding movement. They also come equipped with a sapphire crystal and 50M of water resistance. Of course, nostalgic watches like these are all about the styling and the unique colour schemes and that’s where the new model excels.
The 037 has a tool-like and functional appearance. This is reinforced by the stainless steel and titanium case and the blue and black dial clearly modelled on a car instrument panel. The S1 takes the same basic design but gives the case and bracelet a black DLC coating that contrasts with the colourful dial. This features a white background and a grey chronograph area with bright yellow hands and markers adding to the appeal. The remaining three models follow this lead and boast a variety of colours from the heyday of rallying. Expect the Autodromo x Hodinkee Group B chronograph to build on the success of the regular watch and to be a hit with watch fans and motorsports enthusiasts.
