TEDxSydney Set to Return in August 2022
After two years, TEDxSydney is back in person at Sydney Town Hall on Friday 5 August, with this year’s theme being IMPRINT where speakers will give us insights and new ways of thinking about the future, one that is more hopeful and inspiring than currently being presented. THE ICONIC Release New T-Shirt in Support of First Nations Voice to Parliament
The architects of the Uluru Statement have partnered with THE ICONIC to release a new t-shirt in support of a First Nations Voice to Parliament. The t-shirt was designed by renowned APY artist and leader of the Uluru Dialogue leadership team, Sally Scales – a proud Pitjantjatjara woman. It features the words “Voice” and “Makarrata”, reflecting the deliberate and specific process set out in the Uluru Statement – Voice, Treaty, and Truth through Makarrata. The new design was created with Scales’ family in mind and represents a powerful message of support for a constitutionally enshrined Voice to Parliament that has endured for generations – shown by the inclusion of the artistic styles of her mother, grandmother, and Sally herself. The t-shirt is available in adult and children’s sizes, exclusively on THE ICONIC, in a partnership aimed at spreading national awareness and support for the Uluru Statement in the lead up to a referendum.

Puppies in Need of a Warm Home this Winter
Guide Dogs VIC is celebrating the arrival of its winter litter, but the young pups will need loving and responsible volunteers to help care for them over the next twelve months while they develop some of the basic skills required ahead of their formal Guide Dog training. Volunteer Puppy Raisers play a critical role in transforming young puppies into trainee Guide Dogs, who will one day provide essential independence and freedom to someone who is blind or has low vision. Up to twenty volunteers are urgently needed in Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo to take on this rewarding challenge. NRL Stars Encourage Men to ‘Get2it’ on Bowel Cancer Screening
NRL stars and commentator, Petero Civoniceva, Geoff Toovey and Andrew Voss are calling on Australians aged 50-74 years old to Get2It and do The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program test when it comes in the mail. Around 1 in 13 Australians will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime. Bowel cancer usually starts without any symptoms – that’s why this bowel cancer test kit could save your life. This test can detect cancer in its earlier stages so it can be treated quicker. The test is free, quick, and hygienic and can be completed at home and returned in the post. Anaconda’s New ‘Adventure HQ’ is the Largest Outdoor Concept Store in the Southern Hemisphere
Leading outdoor retailer Anaconda has announced the launch of its largest outdoor retail concept, Anaconda Adventure HQ. The new store on the Hume Highway, Chullora, Sydney will be the largest, most interactive adventure store in the Southern Hemisphere.
At almost 8000sqm Anaconda Adventure HQ is more than four times the size of an Anaconda store. The new centre will feature extended and exclusive product ranges including the introduction of boats, caravans and camper trailers and unique interactive and customer experiences such as a fishing simulator and a 40ft aquarium, stocked with Barramundi and Australian Bass that will be used for fishing demonstrations.
