Some weeks are tougher than others. We’ve had a pretty intense five days in the Man of Many office and now we are hanging out for a stiff drink and a big naughty feed. Newcastle’s West End is going through something of a revival, and leading the charge of this emerging cultural hub is Wester Gallery. They opened their doors earlier this month with the At A Glance launch event, showcasing some of the best local artists in the area. Whilst sipping on some delicious beverages from Pals, partygoers were treated to Newcastle’s finest contemporary pieces in what can only be described as a win for Newy’s creative community. Young Henrys and Dune Rats Team Up Again to Bring Back Dunies Lager

Beer lords Young Henrys today announce the relaunch of Dunies Lager in collaboration with Brissy legends Dune Rats. Back by popular demand, Dunies Lager will be exclusively available on the Young Henrys website and will be pouring in all Dune Rats tour venues. The collaboration results from a blossoming friendship between good mates. First launched in 2017, Dunies Lager matches the electrifying energy of the band mixed with some feisty hops to bring out a rich flavour. Perfectly paired with rockin’ tunes, both can and case also feature artwork from longtime Dune Rats collaborator and artist Lee McConnell.

RUNAWAY Gardens Brings Fire Entertainment to Mid-Winter Blues

Adding zing to the lives of Sydneysiders, RUNAWAY Gardens returns on Tuesday 16 August to its iconic harbourside location at The Rocks, setting fire to the mid-winter blues with lashings of music, cabaret, drag, and comedy, for Sydney Fringe Festival 2022. Planning a catch up with friends or a hot date, the gorgeous outdoor bar and pop-up restaurant at RUNAWAY Gardens is ideal. Treat yourself to seasonal, locally inspired gourmet food and beverages, pre- or post-show, and all with a backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, if you don’t hardly mind! Open from 4-10pm Tuesday to Thursday, and 12 noon to 11pm (Friday and Saturday) and 10pm (Sunday) on weekends, RUNAWAY Gardens will set the Sydney entertainment scene ablaze for six sizzling weeks.

Make-A-Wish Australia Invites You to Bake a Wish

When nine-year-old Poppy’s wish to bake sausage rolls with celebrity chef Justine Schofield was granted on national television last year, it was a long-awaited dream come true. Now, Make-A-Wish Australia® is aiming to raise enough dough to grant more life-changing wishes through its annual Bake A Wish campaign, with the help of newly appointed head bakers, Justine and Poppy. With over 800 seriously ill kids awaiting their wish across Australia, Make-A-Wish is inviting everyone to get baking and host a get-together for family and friends to help make wishes come true for sick kids. It’s a piece of cake!

To join in the baking fun, simply register to host a fundraising bake sale, morning tea or afternoon tea up until August. Make-A-Wish will send you a beautiful ‘Host Kit’ with all the decorations you need to help make your event extra special. Then, set a date, invite your friends and family and have an incredible time at your event, all while raising money to help grant life-changing wishes to critically ill kids.

STOMP Your Way to a Wine Wonderland at Centennial Parklands

From 29 to 30 October 2022, the Rose Garden at Centennial Parklands will be transformed into a wine wonderland with STOMP, a weekend extravaganza of wine tasting, entertainment and delicious food. STOMP festival producer, Monique Annetts from AMA Event Management, says that the wine festival will have traditional barefoot grape stomping and provide wine-lovers with an opportunity to meet the makers of the very best vino that Australia has to offer.

“There is no better place to welcome springtime in Sydney than the picturesque Rose Garden at Centennial Parklands and STOMP will be a great way to celebrate all there is to love about wine with grape stomping, wine infusion workshops and meeting the talented makers behind your favourite tipple,” says Monique.

“The festival isn’t just for wine lovers, guests will be able to sample palate-pleasing food and delicious cocktails set amongst a backdrop of blooming roses and manicured lawns.”

This unique festival will also have a range of market stalls to explore offering bespoke and Australian-made products to take home. There will be three sessions per day at just $49 per person, space is limited, so book now.
