Raid the Cellar With One of Australia’s Great Chefs in His Private Wine Room

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt in covering the hospitality industry for the last 5-years, it’s that you never turn down an offer to hang out with Luke Mangan. One of Australia’s greatest chefs, we’re talking about a man who knows his way around the country’s finest produce, but also a few glasses of great wine. So when he announced he was putting on a series of exclusive private dining dinners with one of the world’s top Champagne houses, Taittinger, you can bet your bottom dollar my arm didn’t need any twisting.

Our table for the evening was set at the exclusive Cellar By Luke, nestled within the Kimpton Margot Sydney. This is a 12-seat private dining space reserved for special events and guests who want an intimate ‘by appointment only’ tasting experience.

However, this experience includes not only great fine Champagne but a meticulously crafted four-course menu curated by Luke Mangan himself ($395pp).

Chef Luke Mangan will be present throughout the evening to take you through each course, providing insights and recounting the inspirations behind each dish. Expect Coffs Harbour Yellowfin Tuna, Western Australia Rock Lobster Ravioli, Rare Roasted Venison, and a Gooey Chocolate Tart.

“Cellar By Luke goes beyond the traditional dining experience, offering a journey through flavours and stories that resonate deeply,” said Luke Mangan. “In collaboration with Taittinger Champagne, we’re crafting an evening where each dish and every pour becomes a celebration of culinary excellence and shared moments.”

Raid the Cellar with Luke Mangan Key Dates

The first event kicks off on Friday, 3rd of May at 6:30 pm but if you want to line it up with an important date, two more events are happening on Friday, 23rd of August and Friday, 25th of October.

You can join Luke at his exclusive private dining room in The Kimpton Margot on the following dates:

  • Friday, 3rd of May at 6:30 pm
  • Friday, 23rd of August at 6:30 pm
  • Friday, 25th of October at 6:30 pm

Space is limited for this intimate event, we encourage booking your attendance promptly to avoid missing out.
