The new Porsche 911 Carrera S is here (from AUD$342,700 plus on-road costs), and it’s arrived with more standard equipment, GTS-rivalling power from its non-hybrid 3.0-litre turbocharged boxer engine, and a body design that is now based on the previous-generation 911 Turbo.
With new turbochargers and optimised charge-air cooling it now produces 22 kW (30 PS) more power than its predecessor and sends it all to the ground via an eight-speed PDK transmission (with no manual available). This means the new 992.2 Porsche 911 Carrera S makes the same peak power as the previous-generation 992.1 GTS. You’re looking at 353 kW (473HP/480 PS) and a touch less torque at 530 Nm. That’s good for a 0-100km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 308 km/h.
Those impressive new figures are joined by an enhanced list of standard equipment and increased customisation options that transform the Carrera S from a more expensive version of the base car into a more significant stand-alone product. Here’s everything you need to know about it!

Standard equipment changes start with staggered tyre fitment with 20/21-inch Carrera S wheels, a sports exhaust system with silver tailpipes, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+). Notably, you can’t get PTV+ in the standard Carrera, and this driver-focused system turns the rear differential from a mechanically controlled unit to one equipped with electronic control for faster interactions.
The new Porsche 911 Carrera S also gains the braking system from the Carrera GTS, and that means they’ve squeezed 408-millimetre discs up front and 380 mm discs on the rear with red callipers as standard. Of course, if you plan on tracking your car, you can upgrade this to the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system.
PASM sports suspension is available as an option with a 10-millimetre-lower ride height, and when you combine this with the optional rear-wheel steering you can turn your Carrera S into a serious driver’s car.
The interior of the new Carrera S is largely the same, but customers can choose an extended leather package that covers the glove box lid, side panels, and seat base in the same smooth leather, and pair this with contrast stitching in Crayon.
Like all new 911s, the folding rear seats are available at no additional charge as an alternative to the standard two-seat layout.
Australian-delivered Porsche 911 Carrera S models will also get the following equipment as standard:
- Tyre fit set
- Windscreen with Grey top tint
- Up to the Dreams exterior colour range
- Power Steering Plus as a No-Cost Option (NCO)
- Parking Entry Package (with 3D Surround View and Self-Steering ParkAssist)
- Adaptive Cruise Control including Porsche Active Safe (PAS)
- Lane Change Assist and Rear Assist
- Comfort Access
- 14-way sports seats with memory package
- BOSE Surround Sound System
- Digital radio
Pricing for the new 2025 911 Carrera S is up substantially on the previous generation (which was priced from around $309,760 plus on-roads). However, it’s still less expensive than the 992.1 GTS it essentially replaces.
With the introduction of hybrid technology, each model in the line-up has essentially gone one rung up the ladder, and the new 992.2 911 GTS is a T-Hybrid model that now produces 398 kW (541 PS) and 610 Nm. Meanwhile, the base model Carrera now produces 290 kW (394 PS) and 450 Nm of torque, so this new Carrera S model neatly fills the gap between it and GTS.
