You’re going to be hard-pressed to actually pick out the details that identify the Pegasus as a customised Land Rover Defender. M. Doruk Erdem designed envisioned a Land Rover Series III Defender as a six-wheel behemoth with completely new looks.

The bespoke Pegasus retains the boxy look of the Defender, but that’s about all you’re going to recognise in this rendering. Erdem drew inspiration from fire trucks and emergency response vehicles for the idea, blowing out the cabin to provide plenty of room for passengers, while also adding on a pickup bed to haul all the necessary equipment. Erdem further imagines the vehicle as having a mid-mounted engine capable of generating 800 horsepower. Pegasus boasts flared out wheel wells that give plenty of room for the suspension to travel while the rig crawls over obstacles. In addition to the truck bed, the customised Defender also sports rooftop racks for carrying even more gear. The design keeps the modern Land Rover Fascia and adds in a roll cage mounted to the bed of the truck. When you do get to the site—whether it’s in response to an emergency, or in response to the call of the great outdoors—roof-mounted lights will illuminate everything. The exhaust is ported out the sides, below the passenger doors. When you roll up onto a scene in this bruiser, people will make way not just for its size, but for its intimidation factor.
This isn’t Erdem’s first design, and you can see why he’s quickly becoming a go-to designer when creative ideas are needed.
