With almost every tech company showing off their latest and greatest at CES 2024, even Sennheiser unveiled a powerhouse lineup of next-gen audio beasts. Featuring both earbuds and headphones, the range includes the all-new Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds, the Accentum Plus headphones (which build upon last year’s collection), and the new Momentum Sport earbuds. Each device is “stuffed with state-of-the-art technology for power users, bringing their acoustics expertise to the forefront of a connected, always-on world.”
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 Earbuds
Touted as “Sennheiser’s most capable earbuds yet”, the new Momentum True Wireless 4 improves upon its predecessor, promising to deliver exceptional sound for “the connected audio aficionado”. Its impressive connectivity options, built on the Qualcomm S5 Sound Gen 2 platform and Snapdragon SoundTM Technology, ensure aptXTM lossless sound quality and ultra-low latency for a seamless listening experience.
Audio
The company has redesigned the antenna in its new earbuds for “exceptional signal continuity” on the go and the earbuds now also support Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast. This integration effectively allows you to broadcast audio from your TV or smartphone to multiple devices like earbuds, speakers, or hearing aids. The Momentum True Wireless 4 even boasts improved Adaptive ANC for deeper noise cancellation and more natural-sounding audio.
Battery Life
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 will be available in black copper, metallic silver, and graphite and offers a similar battery life to its predecessor, with a claimed 7.5 hours of “audiophile-inspired listening”. The earbuds come with a Qi charging case and support quick charging over USB-C.
Accentum Plus Headphones
Building on the impressive audio performance of last year’s Accentum headphones, the new Accentum Plus now supports all popular codecs, including the high-resolution aptX Adaptive, for an “unparalleled” listening experience. These headphones still prioritise outstanding sound quality over unconventional design and now even boast a touch-enabled earcup, a feature found in the flagship Momentum series, for “intuitive feature control without needing to search for buttons or dive into menus”.
Audio
The Accentum Plus sports Bluetooth 5.2 and supports multipoint connectivity as well, allowing you to connect with more than one device simultaneously, along with wind-reduction and adjustable side-tone that helps wearers adapt to the world around them. The company says that Accentum Plus’ Adaptive ANC optimises its noise target to “constantly adjust to changes in the ambient noise environment around the wearer, reducing distractions so that the subtle details in your content shine through”.
Battery Life
The Accentum Plus comes with a significantly improved battery life, with Sennheiser claiming up to 50 hours of playtime per charge. Plus, the bundle also includes a cable for wired listening when needed, a convenient travel case for portability, and comes in either black or white colour options.
Momentum Sport Earbuds
Topping off the range is the most expensive, the $500 Momentum Sport earbuds, designed for workout enthusiasts and fitness fanatics. These earbuds boast a cutting-edge acoustic system with a redesigned transducer, delivering “the best sound quality yet in a Sennheiser sport earbud”. Beyond the sound, these earbuds can track your heart rate and body temperature with built-in PPG and temperature sensors, syncing data to popular fitness apps and devices like Apple Watch/Health, Garmin Watch/Connect and more.
Audio
As per Sennheiser, “For the first time ever in a non-Polar product, users will be able to enjoy full access to Polar’s elite biosensing capabilities and data analytics—including Body Temperature—offering real-time insights during training and deeper offline analysis via the Polar Flow app ecosystem.”
The Momentum Sport earbuds boast a semi-open design “for natural environmental awareness” and an acoustic relief channel to help “minimise footstep noise, breathing, and other body-borne distractions”. With adjustable Transparency, Anti-wind, and Adaptive Noise Cancelling, these IP55 sweat- and water-resistant earbuds also feature a shock-proof chassis.
Battery Life
The Momentum Sport earbuds will be available in Polar Black, Burned Olive, and Metallic Graphite and offer an impressive six hours of playtime on a single charge. But thanks to their Qi-enabled carrying case, which holds enough power for three additional charges, you can enjoy up to 24 hours of listening before needing to plug in. Plus, a quick 10-minute USB-C charge delivers 45 minutes of playback, keeping the music going even when you’re short on time.
