Samsung OLED TVs Launched, Priced for Australia
Well, well, well, what do we have here? Samsung has finally launched its most anticipated TV offering yet with two OLED TVs available to order now in Australia. Originally unveiled back in January at CES 2022, the brand has finally thrown its hat in the ring, offering Aussies and brand loyalists a true competitor to LG’s OLED range. This launch represents a shift in the TV market Downunder and with prices aimed squarely at LG – starting from $4079 AUD – expect the impending battle between the brands to drive competitive prices for consumers.

So what’s under the hood? Samsung OLED TVs feature over 8 million self-lit pixels and they’ve thrown in Quantum Dot Technology to deliver brighter, more accurate highlights and realistic colours. Knowing that even the best hardware is no match for great software, the Samsung OLED TVs deliver an intelligent Smart TV experience with Samsung Object Tracking Sound and Q-Symphony with Dolby Atmos. The slim design is also visually appealing.
The price for the 55-inch Samsung OLED TV is $4079 AUD while the 65-inch will cost $5249 AUD. This compares on par with the LG G2 OLED range that starts from $4076 AUD for the 55-inch and $5376 AUD for the 65-inch. The LG G2 range in Australia has TVs as large as 83-inches for those who want the largest OLED viewing experience, Samsung currently offers 65-inch.
Jeremy Senior from Samsung Australia says; “This new TV range from Samsung goes beyond the typical panel technology to provide remarkable entertainment experiences due to true RGB sub-pixels and HDR10+ technology,” said. “Samsung OLED TVs offer the amazing picture quality, incredible colour, and dazzling brightness that Samsung TVs are renowned for.”
“Samsung OLED represents the very cutting-edge in TV technology, while complementing our 2022 range of home entertainment products,” said Senior. “The launch of Samsung OLED reinforces our commitment to delivering the best entertainment experience without compromise for our customers in Australia.”
The OLED range joins crowd favourites such as its flagship 2022 Neo QLED 8K and 4K series in addition to Samsung’s Lifestyle TV range which features The Frame, The Sero, The Serif, and The Terrace, and projectors, The Premiere and The Freestyle.
