The Sony PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition system comes out as a celebration of achieving the 500 million PlayStations sold worldwide (the actual number is 525.3 million). PlayStation first entered the market 24 years ago, so it’s quite the accomplishment to hit the half a billion milestone in less than a quarter of a century. The PlayStation 4 alone sold over 73 million units between 2013 and 2017.
The system comes with a dark blue and slightly translucent outer shell, which matches the DualShock 4 controller. The system also comes with a vertical stand, a PlayStation camera, and a mono headset. The Pro comes with a massive hard drive with 2TB of storage. You can play the PS4 Pro on 4K TVs, but if you want even better graphics, you can use the boost mode to play on HD TVs with increased image clarity and faster frame rates, just to mention two of the benefits.
While Sony is celebrating 500 million, there won’t be that many of the limited edition consoles made available. In fact, there will only be 50,000 produced. The bundled version will sell for $499.99, or you can purchase the limited edition DualShock 4 as a standalone for $64.99, or the limited edition Gold Wireless Headset for $99.99. The products will go on sale starting August 24 and can be purchased at various retailers; the controller and headset won’t be available until early September.
