Update: Due to overwhelming demand, Zach Bryan’s Melbourne show as part of ALWAYS LIVE has been upgraded to Flemington Racecourse. This article has been amended to reflect the new information.
Country fans may still be reeling following Luke Combs’ sold-out run of shows earlier this year, but another famous face is headed Down Under. In a shock announcement on Tuesday, Untitled Group and UNIFIED Music Group confirmed that country megastar Zach Bryan will play a one-off show in Melbourne this December.
Performing at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, December 9, the Australian exclusive performance will see Bryan bring his unique brand of authentic Southern music Down Under for the first time. The performance, his only Australian activity, comes after an incredible rise for the Oklahoma native. Bryan first shot to fame with his heart-wrenching country ballad ‘Something in the Orange’, before a surprise cameo in Yellowstone made him a household name across America.
Since then, Bryan has released a string of hits, with his major-label debut album, ‘American Heartbreak’, entering the U.S. Billboard 200 at number five in 2022. However, his follow-up self-titled release earlier this year catapulted him into international stardom, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and making him the longest-charting country artist in the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart.
For Aussie fans of Bryan, Flemington Racecourse makes for a perfect inaugural venue. Footage from the country star’s 2022 performance at The Warfield in San Francisco has gone viral for its massive sing-a-longs and crowd participation, which the St Kilda open-air forum promises to deliver 10-fold.
According to Untitled Group and UNIFIED Music Group, presale registrations for the Australian exclusive performance close on Thursday, October 5th 11am AEDT, with presale beginning the same day at 12pm AEDT and general tickets available Friday, October 6th 12pm AEDT.
