HAULIER creative director Jeremy Hershan has blended the allure of travel and timeless design in his latest Spring Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Unveiled against the backdrop of Sydney’s iconic 25 Martin Place during May’s Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, the new collection takes inspiration from various decades, presenting an array of captivating looks. Pack your bags – it’s time for a stylish departure.
The first-class ensemble exudes elegance and simplicity, drawing influences from athletic wear, workwear, military fashion, and tailoring. The presentation transported viewers back to the glorious era of transcontinental travel, evoking images of rockstars on private jets and the seasoned voyager.
Staying true to the brand’s philosophy, the collection is built to withstand the test of time while encouraging wearers to embrace a vibrant and fulfilling life. The result is a collection that elevates both everyday fashion and the experience of travel itself. Comprising an extensive range of styles, the collection left no stone unturned, featuring standout pieces such as branded tees, adventurous suiting, denim jeans and jackets, and camp-collar beach shirts.
Expressing his excitement, Hershan, shared, “I’m thrilled to present my collection on schedule for the first time and feel extremely privileged to utilise the iconic 1970s office tower as the backdrop for the presentation.” Hershan’s illustrious background includes serving as the former design director of Alfred Dunhill in London and R.M. Williams.
He apprenticed under Kris Van Assche and refined his skills on England’s esteemed Savile Row. Throughout his career, Hershan has garnered industry-wide acclaim for his unique collections that draw inspiration from architecture, the 1960s and 1970s air travel, and cinema.
For the runway, Hershan aimed to create gender-neutral looks with a fresh touch of rawness. To bring his vision to life, he collaborated with multi-disciplinary makeup artist Kristyan Low and renowned hairstylist Aimee Hershan. For casting, he exclusively partnered with Kult Australia, ensuring a procession of unique characters embodying the carefree and irreverent spirit of HAULIER.
