You know them for their beers, but Sydney-favourites Young Henrys have branched out once again. The Newtown brew lords have unveiled Young Henrys Gin & Tonic, a new ready-to-drink tinnie with a uniquely Aussie twist. Landing just in time for summer, the latest RTD isn’t just good for a refreshing sesh, it’s good for the planet. To accompany the release, Young Henrys has promised 1% of all G&T revenue to sustainability projects, including 1% FOR THE PLANET, with the ready-to-drink release coming in eco-friendly aluminium cans.

For fans of the Newtown-based brewery, the new Young Henrys Gin & Tonic cements a period of innovation. Over the past 12 months, the brand has unveiled a new whisky and branched further into the spirits game. This time around, the tinnies are loaded with the award-winning Noble Cut Australian Gin, mixed with a signature tonic and heightened with hints of pink grapefruit and thyme. As head distiller Carla Daunton explained, the finished product is distilled using native botanicals and boasts herbal notes from the Tasmanian grown hops, alongside spicy juniper and pepper berries, with a zesty, lemon-myrtle finish.

“It’s been such a privilege to have a hand in the creation of Young Henrys first ever RTD. It’s been a massive journey and it’s great to hold a fantastic product at the end of it that represents the signature pour I love,” Daunton said. “When you crack the can, the grapefruit and thyme flavours hit your nose straight away, then the light, spritzy tonic carries the bright and classic new world flavours of Noble Cut gin across the palate, building to a citrusy finish. Not too sweet and not too dry.”

Like all things Young Henrys, the new release is designed to serve the people. Launching in conjunction with the RTD is a new video that captures the “weird, wonderful and ever-growing” Young Henrys community all around Australia. Soundtracked by local legend Andy Golledge and shot by Yeah Rad, the clip takes viewers through the dive bars, skate parks and backyards of the nation’s true champions.

Priced at $23.99 for a 4-pack, the new Gin & Tonic RTD launches on November 30 and is available via the Young Henrys website, and bottle shops nationally. Summer sesh sorted.
