LSKD Launches Men’s Mental Health Campain: ‘Don’t Wait’
Every day in Australia, we lose nine people to suicide. Seventy-five per cent of those are male. The latest documentary from LSKD titled ‘Don’t Wait’ seeks to change that. Launching on the 21st of July 2023, the documentary features Jordan Kahu, Khan Porter, Matt Dlugos and Heath Thorpe, who get vulnerable as each shares their story and mental health journey.
LSKD Head of Content Matt Kirby shares that the LSKD marketing team will continue to create content that inspires, educates, and raises awareness to support their community as best they can. “As LSKD grows, so does our opportunity to have a positive impact on the community,” Mr Kirby said. “The ‘Don’t Wait’ documentary is just the beginning for us.”
The ‘Don’t Wait’ documentary premieres at an event held on Monday the 17th of July from the LSKD HQ in Loganholme, along with some important discussions led by Josh Ward of Tomorrow Man.

Lifeline & KX Pilates Launch World’s Longest Pilates Class
KX Pilates, a leader in Reformer Pilates, has partnered with Lifeline to launch a groundbreaking initiative called the 24-Hour Pilates for Mental Health relay. The event, taking place on July 22, will donate 100 per cent of the class proceeds to Lifeline, Australia’s leading suicide prevention service. This collaboration comes at a critical time, as Lifeline reports a 17 per cent increase in contacts received through its 24/7 text and webchat services in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
In response to the growing mental health concerns, KX Pilates has commissioned a national research project focusing on stressors, seasonal depression, and group exercise. The study reveals that more than half of the respondents experience seasonal depression, with winter being the peak season for negative feelings such as anxiety, stress, and sadness. Loneliness and disconnection are also prevalent among different age groups. However, the survey highlights that group exercise significantly improves mental wellbeing, with participants reporting higher ratings than non-participants.

Going Dry this July is Good for Your Health and Your Hip Pocket
Many households across Australia are having to make tough budget-cutting decisions as expenses surge to the highest levels in two decades. But some of the hardest hit families during the cost of living crisis are those who are supporting a loved one through a cancer diagnosis.
Research from Dry July Foundation reveals that, along with better physical health, participants also reported saving more money as one of the greatest benefits to a booze break, with 44 per cent of Dry July-ers saying they had more money.

‘Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration’ is Flying into Sydney this Weekend
