It seems like Hugh Jackman is on a mission to break the record for most calories consumed by an actor in preparation for a role. The Australian hunk, who is known for his insane Wolverine workouts, has taken to social media to share his daily meal plan as he gets ready to reprise his role in Deadpool 3. Prepare to feel sick…

“Bulking. A day in the life,” Jackman wrote as a caption while sharing a photo of the six meals he will eat in a given day. “Thank you, Chef Mario, for helping me stay healthy and properly fed whilst… Becoming. Wolverine. Again.”
The photo shows six meals that Jackman will consume throughout the day, including black bass (2,000 calories), Patagonia salmon (2,100 calories), chicken burgers (1,100 calories each), and two grass-fed sirloins (1,100 calories each). Now we ran the numbers and calculated that he’s consuming over 8,000 calories daily, which is more than most people eat in two days.
While some might think that Jackman is taking steroids to bulk up, the actor has made it clear that he is not interested in taking shortcuts. During a recent interview on HBO’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, Jackman said that he’s never turned to gear to pack on muscle.
“I love my job. And I love Wolverine. I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t love it that much.’ So no, I just did it the old-school way,” Jackman said.
The “old school way” apparently involves eating more meat than a starving army. Jackman once joked that he’s sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians out there, as he’s consumed more chickens than he can count.

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in January, Jackman revealed that he was ramping up his calorie intake to 6,000 per day in preparation for his role as Wolverine. This was during his time on Broadway starring in “The Music Man,” so not only was he singing and dancing on stage, but he was also scarfing down massive amounts of food to bulk up for the role.
“I’m building up. I’m on about 4,500-5,000 calories at the moment,” Jackman said at the time. “I wore a heart rate monitor because my trainer said, ‘I need to know what I’m working with here, because I’m trying to bulk you up.’ I burned 1,500 calories in the show, eight times a week. So she goes: ‘Oh, you gotta eat.’ So I was eating 4,500 calories a day, it was not pretty. Now I’m just eating and training.”
With Deadpool 3 set to release in theatres on November 8 from Disney, fans can rest assured that Jack(ed)man will be in peak physical condition to take on the role of Wolverine once again. And who knows, maybe he’ll sign up for Mr Olympia next
