I know it feels like Christmas was years ago, but it’s only been ten weeks. Still, that means we’re one-fifth of the way through the year, so that’s pretty dope! With one side of Australia essentially on wet-weather watch (particularly in Queensland, stay safe!), we’re all hunkering down for a quiet weekend with some good music and video games. Check out what we’ve been listening to and playing below!

LOCKDOWN Protocol

Branded Content Associate – Dayna Aspite

Sometimes, a little chaos is exactly what you need to shake up your evening, and LOCKDOWN Protocol delivers just that. Think 3D Among Us but intrusive thoughts always win. This first-person, task-based game is packed with proximity chat and real-time chaos, keeping you paranoid and determining which of your friends will last a zombie apocalypse with the amount of panic that goes on.

Hosting 3 to 8 players, you’re stranded in space and tasked with completing jobs, while the dissidents do everything in their power to sabotage your efforts. The map is filled with weapons, adding fuel to the fire as you try to figure out who the saboteurs are. The limited movement makes it ten times more challenging (and fun), because as an employee, there’s nothing stopping you from accidentally aiding the enemy when friendly fire exists.

If you’re looking for a fun and chaotic game to play with the squad, I highly recommend it. You know those games you force your friends to buy, only to play once? This is not one of them. It has that Minecraft vibe – something you’ll keep coming back to, especially after your 15th rank loss in Marvel Rivals… LOCKDOWN Protocol is one you’ll want in rotation!

Underwear that Makes You Go “Ohyea”!

Co-Founder – Scott Purcell

Unlike most, I think I’ve tried out more than 20 odd pairs and brands of undies over the years at Man of Many, so I’d consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to the under-garments market.

Ohyeah Underwear recently reached out to me to try out their underwear, and I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve now been trying these out for around 2 weeks and can say they are easily my go-to pair in my drawer or when I’ve got a clean load of washing done.

What makes them so comfy is what they call their BodyForm fibre that apparently form fits to your body after each and every wear. So it gets better over time! They’ve also got a feature common in many of the US brands which is a diamond pouch for your balls, meaning they remain breathable, don’t stick to your legs and keeps you feeling fresh. Lastly, one bug-bear of many undies if the side-entry fly. These come with a top entry that is much easier to access in jeans. If you’re in the market for some new undies, I’d strongly recommend checking these out but going by their website, you best be quick as many style are showing as sold-out.

Note: Man of Many was provided 4 pairs of underwear for the purposes of review.

LVL UP Hydration

Head of Social – John Guanzon

Anyone else been feeling as hydrated as a dry Weet-Bix, lately? No, just me? Ever since attending a media launch event last year for the Australian hydration brand LVL UP, the colourful single-serve sachets have been my go-to for staying topped up and avoiding a full-on thirst crisis These handy little sachets are packed with electrolytes, easy to throw in a bag or pocket, and actually taste good (which, let’s be real, isn’t always the case with hydration powders).

In recent months I’ve been rotating through Mixed Berry, Lemon & Lime, Orange, but on my last trip to Chemist Warehouse, I was excited to see they’ve just dropped two new flavours: Watermelon, and Tropical. They’re all smooth, non-carbonated, and easy to drink. No weird aftertaste, no sugar overload—just solid hydration when I need it. Is this adulthood? Getting way too excited about electrolyte powders?  If so, someone get me a rewards card for Chemist Warehouse and a sensible bedtime.

On My Own – Scott Storch & Abbie Stair

Media, Sales and Brand Partnerships – Alex Martinez

I’ve got a song recommendation for you. This isn’t my typical jam but the talent involved is undeniable and there is a lot to love about this song.

First of all, arguably the best producer in the world Scott Storch is back with his signature production elements including the use of melodic piano keys. If you listen closely, you can hear the similarity with ‘Still D.R.E’, an iconic track by Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, also produced by Scott Stroch.

Secondly, is the incredible vocals by 21 year old Abbie Stair who sounds eerily similar to a modern day Amy Winehouse. She has an amazing set of pipes and has a swaggy delivery about her. Get your headphones on, and give it a listen.
