If you’re a fan of Dwayne Johnson‘s high-flying Spencer Strasmore, the immaculate front facade of 1 Bode Dr might seem a little familiar. The Los Angeles mega-mansion, which sits perched atop the picturesque Hollywood Hills, serves as a base for the final season of the hit HBO series Ballers. Starring Johnson as a retired NFL player who bullocks his way into the sports management industry, the series is an exploration of excess, ostentatious taste and the desire for big budgets. The house in question is no different.

Designed by local developer Michael Mueller, the property was reportedly finished in 2019, however, it does have a famous history. The Naked Gun‘s Leslie Nielsen previously owned the lot for more than 50 years, however, the complete redesign is far more contemporary than the funnyman’s former domicile. Surely.
Right from the very entry of the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, the unique modernist styling shines through. Highlighted by a geometric statement piece, the entryway is adorned with illuminated cubic columns that help to frame the incredible cityscape views. Once you enter the property, it’s all about space. The flowing open areas are designed for entertaining, with breakaway spots opening up the opportunity for more intimate settings. Better still, each space is accented by balconies and disappearing walls of glass, giving an unimpeded view from wherever you find yourself.
Moving further through the house and you’ll find a near-unrivalled kitchen. Featuring sleek cabinetry, Italian granite backsplash, and double islands, the heart of the home is capable of feeding an army, or at least, one Rock-sized action hero. Inside the primary suite, you find a monster two-story dressing room and outrageous bath with soaking tub, dual showers, and makeup vanity. Each room is completed with decorative touches such as golden fixtures and stunning wall patterns to add a touch of old Hollywood glamour, contrasting the unique modernist design.
From there, the rest is all icing on the top of a very expensive cake. From the library and high-end fitness studio to the media room and three-car showcase garage, there’s is an endless number of creature comforts filtered through the Hollywood Hills estate.
But for a Baller house, you unsurprisingly need a baller budget. The home is currently being listed by Hilton & Hyland’s Stephen Resnick and Jonathan Nash for the cool sum of USD$19.99 million (AUD$28.8 million). You can check out the official listing for 1 Bode Dr, Los Angeles below.
