Maybe Upgraded, but Still a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 240GD Custom Convertible SUV

This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 240GD was only recently restored by a group of marquee professionals in Europe, but they didn’t just bring this beauty back to its original glory. Instead, they added in plenty of upgrades.

For starters, a new convertible soft-top was installed. The soft-top was made of German TUV-approved materials, and contrasts nicely with the matte pearl orange exterior. On the inside, the team kept with the black and orange theme, outfitting the 240GD with two-tone leather. They used deviated stitching, which can even be found on the steering wheel and gauges. Orange piping ties in the orange exterior.

The truck also received power steering, new BFGoodrich tires, Brembo brakes, and Ironman shocks. Under the hood, there is a new high-performance radiator to keep the 2.4-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine cool. The SUV has a four-speed manual transmission. New headlights, LED tail lamps, and a protective coating underneath were also added.

A Sony marine radio with Bluetooth and water-resistant speakers provides entertainment. In the back, there’s a side-mounted bench and a storage box, each covered in eco leather. With only 50,500 original miles, and with new oil and new filters, this SUV is set to keep performing for a long time to come.
