LG Stacks the Screens With DualUp Productivity Monitor

While we’ve been testing our way through a host of quality gaming monitors as of late, the latest DualUp monitor (28MQ780-B) from LG caught our eye thanks to its productivity minded aspect ratio of 16:18 and quality IPS panel. The monitor joins a range of productivity minded products from the brand that taps into the hybrid working environment of today and was recently recognised at the 2022 Red Dot Awards as Best of the Best Honoree and the 2022 CES Innovation Awards Honoree. Coders, graphic designers, and content creators keep reading because this one’s for you.

The 2,560 x 2,880 resolution jumps off the page immediately, and while the 16:10 aspect ratio is looking to entice buyers in the portable laptop space it’s not often we come across anything this far from the norm. LG refers to the display as an SDQHD type or Square Double QHD display that offers the same technical real estate as two 21.5-inch displays stacked on top of each other, more technical information can be found below.

To take advantage of the newfound real estate, users can split the screen vertically. We think it’s a fabulous use of space for those in confined working areas or those with a smaller desk without horizontal space. This would prove particularly useful when joining two DualUp monitors together and creating a four-zone display perfect for editing images and video on the Nano IPS display that covers 98 per cent of DCI-P3 colour gamut and the ability to display HDR10 content. Response times, contrast ratios, and brightness are all fairly low by today’s standards, however, shouldn’t be a problem for productivity.

“Offering a completely new form factor for the monitor screen, the DualUp Ergo will enable users to multitask with ease when completing creative tasks. It is an innovative solution that will help enhance productivity when working, particularly for those users who find themselves looking at information for extended periods of time on multiple screens or windows,” said Brad Reed, Head of B2B Marketing at LG Electronics Australia.

The LG DualUp monitor will arrive with an adjustable Ergo stand with adjustments in height, tilt, swivel, and pivot, mounting to the desk with a traditional clamp. Height will further assist with side-to-side head movements.

The 2022 LG DualUp monitor can be purchased on 23 May 2022 from LG via the link below and from leading retailers from June 2022 for $1,299 AUD.. At launch, LG Australia will be offering an exclusive 10 per cent discount for the first 100 units sold.
