Every year, fans huddle around their television sets in the hope of witnessing sporting glory, but more often than not, we’re treating to some interesting comedy fodder. Much like Katy Perry’s melancholy sharks or whatever The Weeknd was running from last year, the blockbuster event between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals delivered some seriously perfect Super Bowl memes for 2022. But while many related to the on-field antics of Joe Burrow and OBJ, the real winner in the Super Bowl meme stakes was the half-time show.

Super Bowl Half-Time Show Memes

One of the biggest and boldest musical undertakings revert attempted in sports, the half-time show for Super Bowl LVI saw a who’s who of West Coast rappers hit the stage in front of their hometown. Led by perennial rap mogul Dr. Dre and recently crowned Death Row Records owner Snoop Dogg, the show kicked off as a homage to the downtown streets of LA. From the opening note of The Next Episode, Dre and Snoop Dogg had the crowd in the palm of their hands and it didn’t stop there. A surprise appearance from 50 Cent, that saw him recreate the classic upside-down scene from his In da Club music video, shook the internet in more ways than one. Fans were quick to point out that 50 is probably a little closer to the whole dollar now.

From there, Mary J. Blige’s gut-buster performance that ended in complete exhaustion became the perfect backdrop for super sold Super Bowl 2022 memes, delivering the same kind of energy we all have at around 3:30pm each weekday. But perhaps the best content came from the D-O-Double G himself when a sneaky shot of Snoop Dogg under the bleachers taking a quick smoke break filtered across the net. Too good.
