‘Strays’ Trailer Shows Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx as Some Sick Puppies

Universal Pictures has unleashed the first trailer for their upcoming comedy film Strays, a subversion of the dog movies we know and love. We will see Will Ferrell as the voice of Reggie, a shaggy dog who finds himself on the hunt for his owner after being kicked to the curb. However, Reggie’s quest for his owner takes a wild turn when he teams up with Jamie Foxx’s Bug, a street-smart pup who introduces him to the wacky world of strays. For the love of comedic cinema, please let this be good. It’s been a minute…

If Homeward Bound, The Lion King, Ted, and Pineapple Express had a baby, you’d get something resembling Strays. During the obscene trailer, Reggie and his canine compadres get into all sorts of hijinks, including drinking beer out of trash cans, eating strange mushrooms that cause them to hallucinate, and, of course, hatching a plan for Reggie to get back at his owner.

Joining Ferrell and Foxx, the film features an impressive voice cast that includes Randall Park, Isla Fisher, and Josh Gad, making Strays one of the biggest comedy events of the year. Let’s hope it can live up to the hype.

Directed by Josh Greenbaum and written by Dan Perrault, Strays is an “R-rated, live-action comedy about the complications of love, the importance of great friendships, and the unexpected virtues of couch-humping.” So if you’re in need of a good laugh with a pack of mischievous dogs, mark your calendars for June 9, 2023, when Strays hits theatres.
