On Christmas morning, you might rush down to check the driveway only to find it’s still empty. That doesn’t mean your dreams of a Porsche 911 RSR need die then and there, however; you could still score with the new LEGO Technic 42096 Porsche 911 RSR. The model consists of 1,580 pieces and has several functional parts, such as authentic rear wings with swan neck mounts. The cockpit is fully detailed, and the car comes with a working differential and an independent suspension.
The RSR follows up on the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The 2016 model is slightly larger, with an additional 1,100 pieces, still, the RSR measures five inches high by 19 inches long and seven inches wide. The GT3 RS also comes with a more complicated manual gear box mechanism, where the RSR does not.
The RSR does come in the racing livery of black, white, and red—something Technic fans have been clamouring for. The kit will sell for somewhere in the neighbourhood of USD$180.
