LEGO Technics Batcycle Brings The Batman’s Coolest Vehicle to Life
Your dreams of riding into the night like a badass vigilante can finally come true (well, sort of). Taken straight out of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman movie, the brand new LEGO Batcycle perfectly and elegantly captures the look, feel and dominance of one of Batman’s coolest contraptions, putting most other toys to shame. While you can’t take it to the streets, there’s still plenty the set can do to keep you busy hours on a stretch. This buildable set is an authentic scale model of the film vehicle featuring all the realistic parts and engineering concepts, including steering, suspension and chain drive.

The Batcycle is part of the Danish toy maker’s Technic series, which features lifelike movement and mechanisms “that introduce LEGO builders to the universe of engineering in an approachable and realistic way.” This buildable motorbike is relatively more compact than other LEGO sets, measuring just under seven inches tall. This bike stands 6.5 inches tall, 13 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. But don’t let the size trick you into thinking otherwise, as this buildable motorbike packs in some serious punch.
Since this is a scale-model replica of the Batcycle, you get all the engineering and technological goodness as the real-life version, which makes assembling and building this set a real treat. The steering, suspension and chain drive that connects the articulating H4 engine to the back wheel are all made to look and function like the real-life counterpart, which is something most nerdy buffs will appreciate. The set even has a supporting kickstand, letting you show off the fancy motorbike in its full glory, when not in play.

The Batman LEGO set contains a total of 641 pieces and everything here is made to resemble actual components of a bike, which further adds to the set’s allure. The set comes with an age rating of 9 and up, but we’re sure that most adults will get the same fun and enjoyment out of this as kids. But the fun doesn’t stop just there. LEGO is taking advantage of 3D technology opening a new dimension to how you build the set, thus further enrichening the entire building experience.
Using the LEGO Builder application, you will be able to rotate or perform zoom-in or out functions in 3D as you assemble the model together. “The LEGO Builder app guides you and your child on an intuitive building adventure with tools that let you zoom in and rotate models in 3D, save sets and track progress,” says the toy manufacturer. From movie-accurate bold design to realistic details and engineering concepts, the LEGO Batcycle appears to offer everything most fans would want from a set. If you are looking to add this to your collection, the Batcycle set will be available starting March 1 via the official LEGO store and comes at a not-so-exorbitant price tag of AUD $89.99.
