This year, what happens in Vegas is most definitely not staying in Vegas. Ahead of Sin City’s much anticipated Grand Prix, Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has paid tribute to the vibrancy of the Nevada strip with a stunning new hyper-colour Monaco timepiece. Dazzling, playful and with a healthy dose of avant-garde opulence, the new TAG Heuer Pink Monaco Chronograph arrives like a sparkling neon sign on Highway 15, illuminating a lifetime of possibilities—if you play your cards right.
Much like the newest race on the Formula 1 (F1) calendar, the updated Monaco represents a staunchly modern approach to time-honoured traditions. Arriving in a lightweight titanium case finished with a sleek black DLC coating, the watch feels like a fitting nod to the long Las Vegas nights. Dark and dimly lit, the shadowy outer case material provides the perfect backdrop for the incandescent glow of the bold pink accents on the 3 and 9 o’clock counters and hand, as well as on the chronograph seconds hand.
In many ways, this Monaco is reminscent of the Ref. CBL2180.FC6497 from 2022, better known as the ‘Dark Lord’, in its ability to contrast colours and throw light amongst the shade. That model featured a similar black DLC titanium case highlighted by rose-gold accents and striking red-coloured seconds and sub-dial hands. With the Pink Monaco, however, TAG Heuer is being far more playful, approaching the accents with an almost carefree enthusiasm that speaks directly to Las Vegas’ dazzling facade.
Inside, the watchmaker has fitted the new Monaco with the in-house automatic Calibre Heuer 02, the La Chaux-de-Fonds’ maison’s signature chronograph movement. Capable of delivering 80 hours of power reserve with remarkable accuracy and reliability, the Heuer 02 remains a stellar performer in the space. It is only fitting that the F1-inspired piece bears its hallmarks, which you can see directly through the skeletonized dial.
When you flip the watch over, you’ll find a transparent sapphire caseback that provides a glimpse at the column wheel at 12 o’clock and the oscillating weight, which has also been accented in striking pink. As TAG Heuer explains, these vivid eye-catching accents are intended for “those who dare to express themselves through their style”.
The latest TAG Heuer Pink Monaco Chronograph arrives just a few weeks after the watchmaker unveiled a special edition Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon in honour of the late F1 driver Ayrton Senna. The piece, created in collaboration with the Senna Brand, spoke to both the Brazilian driver’s indelible legacy and TAG Heuer’s unwavering commitment to the sport. It’s a dedication that will undoubtedly grow over the next decade.
In October, TAG Heuer’s parent company, LVMH, announced a massive 10-year sponsorship deal with F1 that will kick off in 2025. While the details of how the partnership will roll out have yet to be confirmed, there is no question that TAG Heuer will benefit, having already established strong ties to the sport through its sponsorship of Oracle Red Bull Racing and its historic connection to the Monaco race. With the release of the latest Pink Monaco Chronograph, you can add Las Vegas to that list.
The TAG Heuer Pink Monaco Chronograph is priced at AUD$16,300 and is available now. For more information on the latest F1-inspired timepiece, visit the official TAG Heuer online boutique. Viva Las Vegas.
