One-Of-A-Kind Artworks Up for Grabs Via ‘TasmanAi’

This week, Tourism Tasmania launched TasmanAi, an image generator with a twist. Instead of instant images, the generator results in ‘real’ artworks such as paintings, illustrations and drawings, by leading and emerging Tasmanian artists.

Nine Tasmanian artists including the youngest ever winner of the Glover Prize, Josh Foley, are eager to share this play on artistic authenticity versus the instant gratification delivered by artificial intelligence.

These one-of-a-kind artworks are up for grabs through TasmanAi via discovertasmania.com.au/tasmanai. Image prompts can be submitted now until March 4, with artworks sent to selected entrants in the following months.

Darrel Lea Launches Ovarian Cancer Easter Egg

This Easter, iconic confectionery brand Darrell Lea has joined forces with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) to raise vital funds for world-leading ovarian cancer research down under – launching the Darrell Lea OCRF Milk Chocolate Egg.

Ovarian cancer stands as the most lethal reproductive cancer, bearing a 49% five-year average survival rate. About 70% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer are already at an advanced stage of the disease, due to vague symptoms and the lack of an early detection test. For these women, survival beyond five years drops to 29%.

To help Aussie researchers elevate survival rates by developing breakthroughs in early detection, treatment, prevention, and recurrence strategies, Darrell Lea will donate 20 cents from each OCRF Egg sold to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

The Darrell Lea OCRF Milk Chocolate Egg 100g is now available exclusively online and in-store at Coles Supermarkets nationwide for AU$8.50 – make sure to hop on down and get your hands on one before they’re gone.

In the spirit of love, global touring company Trafalgar wants to help bring some of these perfect proposals to life this Valentine’s Day. From live violinists to serenading Sopranos, and one-hundred red roses, Trafalgar is on a mission to make your proposal as epic as the ones on your TikTok feed.

Sick Aussie Kids Get Ride of Their Life

The Driven Project, a global non-profit organization, created a once-in-a-lifetime ‘supercar therapy’ experience for a group of children battling critical illnesses in Perth on Sunday, February 11th as part of an expanded program of events in Australia.

The VIP kids and their families got to see and ride in more than 15 supercars and hypercars, including a McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, Bugatti Chiron and the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro.

The event comes after Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo made a surprise appearance at PCHF last month to meet some of the Driven Project’s ambassador kids and inspect the supercars outside the hospital.

After running its first event in Perth last year, the Driven Project (originally started in Canada) is also expanding into Sydney, with it’s first event taking place next weekend. The Driven Project have hosted over 50 major events since inception and currently have 14 events planned for 2024.
