Heineken Kicks Off Summer with Silver Smooth Tour

The warmer weather has arrived and to make the most of it, beer lord Heineken is embarking on a Silver Smooth Tour. Hitting the road in Sydney, before heading to Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth in 2025, the Heineken Silver Jeep will be rolling up to parties and gatherings for the ultimate seasonal drinking experience. Better yet, it could be headed your way.

From now until December 10, Sydneysiders can enter for their chance to win a visit from the Heineken Silver Jeep. All you have to do is head to the Silver Smooth Tour website and explain in 25 words or less why Heineken Silver should deliver to your “smooth event”. Each entry will be judged on creativity, originality, and how well it captures the essence of a great summer celebration.

The announcement comes just after the official launch of Heineken Silver, a beer described as ‘big on refreshment and easy on bitterness’. With only 88 calories and 99 per cent carb-free, it’s the new beer of summer, and it is on its way to town near you.

2024 ISPS HANDA Australian Open Kicks Off The 19th Fan Experience

It’s no secret that Victorians love their sport and this year, they’re in for a treat. With the 2024 ISPS HANDA Australian Open officially kicking off on Thursday, 28 November, at Melbourne’s famous Sandbelt, the newly introduced 19th Fan Experience finally makes its presence felt. Golf has never been this exciting.

Designed as a new off-course destination, the 19th Fan Experience blends a world-class golf tournament with gourmet food, premium drinks, live music and a buzzing social atmosphere. According to the event organisers, you’ll find extensive food offerings, bars and lounges, alongside live music from DJ John Course on Friday and Hot Dub Time Machine on Saturday, marking The 19th as the ultimate sporting experience for everyone.

“The 19th Hole fan experience at the 2024 ISPS HANDA Australian Open will continue to evolve the Australian Open experience by creating a destination that gives something for everyone outside of the golf,” Antonia Beggs, head of major events at Golf Australia said. “We’ve created a new space where fans can immerse themselves in premium food, incredible bars and lounges, live music, and enjoy a buzzing social atmosphere with friends and family. It’s about blending the best of entertainment and lifestyle in one vibrant hub, where the off-course energy is just as exciting as the tournament itself.”

On the course, the action is just as hot with the 2024 ISPS HANDA Australian Open featuring some of the best players from around the globe. Local legends Cam Smith and Min Woo Lee will be taking it to defending champions Joaquin Niemann and Ashleigh Buhai, in a battle for the ages. Tickets start at just $36, with kids 17 and under enjoying free entry. A dedicated free bus shuttle will run from Southland train station every 15 minutes, with free public car parking available just a 20-minute walk from the 16th tee, golf course and The 19th Hole.

Helping Hoops Raises Record-Breaking $70k for Community Basketball

Helping Hoops’ Game Changers fundraiser has delivered major results once again. The not-for-profit enterprise’s annual event, held last Friday, raised a whopping $70,000 to support minority communities through basketball across Melbourne. The monumental figure marks the highest-ever amount generated through the event, which aims to drive community connection through sport.

The Game Changers event was hosted by former AFLW Richmond player, Akec Makur Chuot, alongside official partners Nike, Royal Stacks and others from the community. With the goal of coming together to discuss and drive change for those who need it most, Helping Hoops is making a difference one bucket at time.

The organisation’s mission is to continue using basketball to engage, inspire, and empower children and young people, building their strengths and self-esteem. For more information or to get on board with the charitable organisation, visit Helping Hoops and start changing the game.
