Spot the Snake

Spot the Snake Hiding in this Optical Illusion and You Could be a Genius

Time for a little hide and sssseek. After readers went nuts over our Spot the Mouse brainteaser last week, we bring you the latest optical illusion going viral on the internet: Spot the Snake. Taking things up a notch, many have found the new puzzle more complex than the last, with those spotting the slippery serpent within 20 seconds laying claim to the world record. As they say, the greater the task, the greater the reward.

The mind-melting image was designed by Hungarian artist Gergely Dudas, who often challenges fans with puzzles on his blog and books, per The Sun. The artist has hidden the snake seamlessly amongst a litany of green tortoises, making it incredibly hard to locate the reptile. To further frustrate the viewer, Dudas adds a distraction in the puzzle by placing a top hat on one of the turtles. Very cheeky, Dudas!

Similar to last week, it’s now time to pull out the stopwatch. Check out the image above and put yourself to the test. How’d you go? Are you the Albert Einstein of optical illusions? We certainly were not… While you’re at it, give our spot the sunglasses puzzle a crack too.

For those not destined for the record books and struggling to locate the snake, turn your eyes towards the bottom left of the image. If you look closely, you will see one ‘tortoise’s head’ is slightly different to the rest. Additionally, there’s a little tongue poking out of its mouth which further differentiates it from the numerous shelled creatures.
