Skateboarding started on the streets, but like so many things, there comes a time when the sport needs to evolve. Thus the advent of beefier skateboards that allowed for riding on mountain trails came along. Now the next stage of that evolution is here. Cycleagle is a four-wheel-drive off-road skateboard that can take on any bumps and rough surfaces, many of which it can pass right over thanks to its 155 mm ground clearance.
Equipped with four 1000-watt brushless electric motors, the Cycleagle has a 14-mile range thanks to its high-performance lithium batteries. That range is increased even more thanks to its tool-less battery swapping. When one battery is drained, just click in the next one and you’re off. Each of the motors powers one of the wheels. These wheels are connected to an independent suspension system that makes your ride much smoother. Accelerating and braking happen via a wireless controller; there’s also a reverse gear. The Cycleagle can reach a top speed of 27 miles per hour. Hitting that kind of speed and handling rough terrain requires a solid base, which is why the Cycleagle is made with aviation-grade aluminium and carbon fibre protective layers. While offering plenty of sturdiness and durability, these materials also keep the weight below 19.5 kg for the four-wheel-drive version and below 17.5 kg for the two-wheel-drive version. The Cycleagle is easily transported and fits into the trunk of your car. Riders can customize the shock absorption as well as the steering sensitivity to match their style and the terrain.
The Cycleagle is now available on Indigogo. The higher-end four-wheel-drive version is going for $3,700, while the two-wheel version is marked at $2,700. If you get in on the super early bird offer, you can pick up either for $1,980 or $1,480 respectively.
