Aston Martin has revealed the AMR-C01 Racing Simulator, a US $74,000 (AUD$100,000) luxury home simulator for those who want to race in the virtual world and have a lot of disposable income. This is the first of its kind to be offered by the British automaker.
The simulator is targeted at esports competitors and also dedicated racing drivers who want to hone their skills before their next race.
AMR-C01 is the result of a new partnership between Aston Martin and British tech company, Curv Racing Simulators. Designed by the automaker and engineered by Curv, the AMR-C01 has a lightweight carbon fibre chassis, utilising the latest technology and Assetto Corsa software.
The simulator itself features a seating position that mirrors the Aston Martin Valkyrie, adding a futuristic hypercar feel. The front bodywork is shaped to invoke the signature Aston Martin Racing grille. Buyers will also have options regarding colourways to best suit the home.
Curv Racing Simulators is led by Darren Turner, an Aston Martin works driver who possesses over 20 years’ experience in Formula 1 simulation.
“We’ve created a home simulator with incredible immersion that offers users the opportunity to have a great time racing in the virtual world, from the comfort of their own home,” said Turner. “I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve, with design and engineering creating what I believe to be the most beautiful home simulator available.”
Limited to just 150 examples, Aston Martin is currently taking orders for the AMR-C01. The simulator comes with an RRP of £57,500, or AUD$100,000 with first deliveries scheduled for later this year.
