Bang & Olufsen are updating their iconic home speaker, jumping from the Beolit 17 to the all-new Beolit 20. The square-shaped speaker still focuses on quality sound but adds in a few more features that make the portable speaker even better.
The new Beolit 20 has 45 per cent air transparency, which translates into a more crisp, clear, and refined sound. Combine that feature with Band & Olufsen’s True360 omnidirectional technology, and any room where you use this speaker will be positively filled with quality sound that you can enjoy regardless of where you may be.
That sound comes from a 5.5-inch long-stroke wideband woofer accompanied by 1.5-inch full ranges and two 4-inch bass radiators. All that hardware gives the speaker a full-bodied sound that is more pleasing to the ear. For even better audio, you can pair the new Beolit 20 with other 20s or with previous versions to create surround sound. And because the speakers are portable, you can recreate that experience wherever you go.
Of course, with portability you’ll need a good battery, as you can’t always rely on finding an outlet wherever you end up. The new Beolit 20 sports a battery with 30 per cent more life to give you up to 8 hours of playback at a typical listening volume. It also has wireless Qi charging, so you can use the speaker as a portable charging station for your electronic devices.
The wireless charging station is located on the top of the speaker, so it’s readily accessible and easy to use. Charging the speaker itself is accomplished through a USB-C charging port. Bang & Olufsen are offering the Beolit 20 in either Grey Mist or Black Anthracite. Both colourways include a vegetable-tanned leather strap and are priced at €500 through Bang & Olufsen’s stores or online.
