Bang and Olufsen’s signature portable sound just gets better in 2018 as the Danish tech brand launches its new flagship headphones to overwhelm your senses with precision, power, and detail. The Beoplay H9i and Beoplay H8i headphones are built with a deep infusion of new features to complement the way we live with sound, plus the newly streamlined aesthetics are both sleek and modern.
Beoplay H9i headphones are comfortable and offer an excellent wireless listening experience. They’re worn over-ear and crafted from premium materials.
The headband has a solid and lightweight aluminium frame covered with stitched cowhide leather, anodised aluminium ear cups and underneath the soft lambskin ear cushion is adaptive memory foam that adapts to the shape and curve of the ear for maximum comfort and breathability.
Bang & Olufsen introduced a bass port that ensures more a powerful bass response and the hybrid Active Noise Cancellation has been improved to perform better between 300-800Hz meaning that the cancellation of voices will be more effective.
A new smart feature automatically pauses music or video when you remove the headphones. When you put them back on, the music or video starts playing again. You can pair H9i headphones with two devices at the same time, and the battery life is improved – now up to 18 hours from a single charge. There’s also an additional microphone dedicated to improving voice quality.
Beoplay H8i streamlines a classic design and updates it for a more contemporary and light appearance. The anodised aluminium discs are flush with the earcups, and the mono-arm has been redesigned to give a cleaner and more minimalistic expression.
The earcups also posses physical button controls for people who prefer physical simplicity over smart touch controls. The battery life has been increased by more than 100% to an incredible 30 hours even with Bluetooth and noise-cancelling switched on.
H8i also features the new proximity sensor that automatically pauses and unpauses sound and video as well as the additional microphone for calls and the ability to pair with two devices simultaneously. Fine tuning of your listening experience is performed through the Beoplay App for Android, iPhone and Apple Watch.
Bang & Olufsen’s new flagship headphones are available now online and from select retailers. They launch in Natural and Black colourways. Beoplay H8i goes for USD 399, while H9i is USD 499. Both include a cotton carrying bag, a 1.25m USB-C charging cable and an audio cable.
OK, so maybe the new Beoplay headphones won’t overwhelm ALL of your senses, particularly smell, but they’re still incredibly impressive yeah? For a more portable listening experience, take a look at Jabra’s new Elite earbuds. For more B&O Play coverage, click here.
