The Pikachu earbuds are, of course, yellow and have an outline of Pikachu on the back. Razer used the Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds as the base for this cute set of earbuds, which means that they are slightly larger than AirPods and feature touch controls for playback and calls. The earbuds also feature voice control, so they’ll be compatible with your smartphone’s voice assistant. Using the Hammerheads also means that their performance should be good, as the Hammerheads tend to produce good audio quality. If they did use the Hammerheads for the Pikachu earbuds, you’ll also get a Bass Boost and a Treble Boost EQ settings to optimise the sound that you want. The Hammerheads do come with a gaming mode, which will be nice for a set of earbuds inspired by a game, that offers 60ms input latency. That setting essentially eliminates lag between the game and the audio. The expected 13mm driver unit should be more than sufficient for any needs—gaming, music, or podcasts.

One challenge that users will find with the Pikachu earbuds is that battery life of only three hours of playback. However, the charging case adds an additional 13 hours of use. The case can recharge the earbuds about five times. The case is the real winner in this deal—at least in terms of aesthetics. The Pokeball shape is completely unique and looks fun to use. Just push the button and your earbuds are ready to come onto the field to win.

The biggest potential problem of these earbuds and case is that they appear to only be available in China right now. There’s no word on if they’ll be offered in other markets, but hopefully, the rest of the world’s Pokegyms will get a chance to catch them all as well.
