UNDSCVRD Season 2: Samsung is Looking for Australia’s Next Musical Megastar

In Partnership with Samsung

From The Veronicas to Kylie Minogue, The Kid LAROI to AC/DC, Australia’s always punched well above its weight on the global music scene. Whether we’re talking pop, hip-hop, dance, or rock, our great southern land boasts global superstars in every genre, and now Samsung is looking to discover the next world-class talent worthy of joining their number. Could it be you? Read on to find out.

Thanks to the forthcoming March 2023 launch for season two of Samsung’s hit TikTok music reality show, UNDSCVRD, a new generation of Aussie stars-in-waiting will soon have the chance to turn dreams into reality, as each strives to leave an indelible mark on the world’s musical landscape. Featuring Australia’s very own R&B powerhouse Tkay Maidza in the role of mentor – fresh from headline tours at home and in the US, as well as supporting arena tours for Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish – the new season will showcase the collective journey of five budding artists as they work together to each create an original piece of music and accompanying video in order to define their musical identity.

The Art of Cut Through

Taking the reins from the aforementioned hosts of season one, The Veronicas, Maidza will pull from her own hard-won experience and success within the music industry to guide each contestant as they learn the ropes and discover how best to craft their own artistic brand. Each episode of UNDSCVRD will offer contestants the chance to live the life of a recording artist, whilst providing the tips and tricks they need to develop a better understanding of how to cut through to an audience on TikTok.

The series will culminate in a live concert featuring performances from each contestant (along with Tkay Maidza) in front of music industry executives and influencers. Following this landmark event, each artist will release the original single and accompanying music video they crafted throughout the season, with the winner going on to record a five-track EP.

Much in the same way its Galaxy Z Series foldable devices were designed to provide a new generation with a smartphone experience unlike any other, Samsung’s second season of UNDSCVRD will refuse to follow the traditional path of music star discovery. Instead, Samsung will champion local talent by harnessing the TikTok platform through daily vertical videos that are broadcast exclusively on the @UNDSCVRD_artist channel. This will result in a search for the next Aussie music icon that shrugs off the past by capturing the future-focused spirit of Samsung’s innovative smartphones.
