The man, the myth, the legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is gearing up to tell his own story with his newly announced documentary, Arnold. From the upcoming action comedy series FUBAR to a brand new docu-series, the Governator is ready to make a splash on the small screen by taking over Netflix. The streaming service recently debuted the first trailer for Arnold, with the upcoming three-part docuseries set to chart the meteoric rise of the legendary bodybuilder turned actor turned politician. By all reports, Arnold will also reveal some never-before-seen footage and stories of Schwarzenegger’s journey from “rural Austria to the highest echelons of the American dream.”

As per the official description, “In a series of candid interviews Schwarzenegger, his friends, foes, co-stars and observers cover everything from his days pumping iron to his triumphs in Hollywood, his time governing the state of California and both the joys and turbulence of his family life in a tale that matches his larger-than-life persona.”

The debut trailer for Netflix’s Arnold opens with the Austrian Oak talking about his old bodybuilding days, saying, “I saw myself on the stage (with) thousands of people screaming, ‘Arnold, Arnold, Arnold,'” before showing old footage of him flexing his chest and biceps. “And when you visualise something very clearly, you believe that you 100 per cent can get there,” Arnie continues.

The trailer then picks up the pace showing us Schwarzenegger training hard spliced in between clips from The Terminator where he wields two semiautomatic assault rifles. Dramatic visualisations of his early days when he was a kid doing push-ups and from his time in the army are also thrown in, with Arnold’s voice in the background, saying, “There was a lot of things that I had to learn…Obstacles that I had to overcome.” Schwarzenegger goes on to talk about the range of injuries that can end one’s career for good. “But the only thing that no one can take from you is your mind,” he says.

Arnie’s unique mindset is also set to explored outside of the worlds of film and bodybuilding, with Arnold detailing his foray into politics. Footage of him taking a puff from his cigar with governmental offices right behind him is shown, with Arnold’s voice in the background saying, “Let’s get to work.”

We then get to hear a woman talk about Arnie’s political method of operation, saying, “He had no staff, no real plan,” with another adding, “He blew up the political system.” Shots of Schwarzenegger meeting people and getting to know about all the adversities transpiring in his constituency are shown, with his voiceover saying, “There are problems and problems. But I wanted to do the things that everyone calls impossible.”

“If you’re always hungry, you’re never really satisfied,” Schwarzenegger says in his instantly recognisable baritone. The trailer ends with Schwarzenegger giving audiences a valuable life lesson, saying, “No matter what it takes, work your ass off. Do it. Do it now!” The docuseries is directed by Lesley Chilcott and executive produced by Allen Hughes, Peter Nelson, Lesley Chilcott, Paul Wachter and Doug Pray. So get ready to witness Schwarzenegger’s “multifaceted life and career” when Arnold drops on Netflix Australia on June 7, 2023.
