The courtroom is about to get heated once more. In a pleasantly surprising development, an all-new Suits TV series is currently in the works, according to Variety and Deadline. Aaron Korsh, the series creator, is partnering with NBCUniversal to bring a fresh instalment to the immensely successful legal drama series. While this new, yet-to-be-named Suits series is still pretty early in its development, it is not being labelled as a reboot or spinoff. Instead, the project is being billed as a “universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location.”
The upcoming series will mark a clean slate, with a different law firm, a fresh location, and a brand-new cast of characters. However, just like the original ‘Suits,’ this new series will be full of workplace drama and legal intrigue. Since negotiations are still ongoing, many specifics, such as the broadcasting or streaming platform within the NBCUniversal network, remain uncertain.

Series executive producer Gene Klein expressed his astonishment regarding the recent upsurge in Suits popularity during an interview with TVLine. He said, “I was surprised. I’m very proud of the show. I, obviously, had a sense when I found out it was coming to Netflix (that) it would probably get another burst of viewing and that kind of thing, but I did not think this would happen.”
He continued: “The first time the (Nielsen) weekly Top 10 came out and the first three seasons were in there, I thought, “Well, if everyone just keeps on watching, this is going to go on for a while because they’ll keep on moving through the seasons,” and that’s exactly what’s happening. People are sticking with it. It’s lovely.”
Thanks to its newfound success on Netflix, the USA Network’s legal drama shook up the streaming world in 2023, becoming a consistent chart-topper on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10. Suits ran from 2011 to 2019 and follows the remarkable journey of Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a brilliant college dropout with photographic memory and skills, who tries to make it in New York’s competitive legal world without a law degree. He impresses Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), a top gun at a fancy NYC law firm led by Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres), and the two team up to tackle legal battles, sometimes bending the rules along the way.
