‘The Bear’ Season 2 Trailer Serves Up a Chaotic Culinary Adventure

The Bear season one closed with Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy accidentally (and luckily) stumbling upon stacks of cash. Standing at an opportunist crossroads, the enterprising restauranteur decides to close his family’s Italian beef joint in Chicago for good, which is precisely where the 10-episode new season picks up.

The new trailer teases the tough road that lies ahead for Carmy and his team. The race against time is on as Carmy, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), and Sugar (Abby Elliott) gear up to open their dream establishment within a six-month deadline. From creating a brand new menu to tackling the dreaded city permitting bureaucracy, there’s plenty to figure out in very little time.

We get to see Carmy and Sydney concocting a whole new “chaos” menu for their revamped restaurant. “I’m trying to start from a place of positivity,” says Carmy. However, the menu isn’t the only thing in dire need of an upgrade. Sydney lays down a plan to send Marcus (Lionel Boyce) and Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas) to culinary school to master the art of fine dining.

“As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future,” The Bear season two logline reads. “As the entire staff is forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learn what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other.”

The trailer ends with the introduction of a brand new character in the form of Molly Gordon, who plays a currently unknown character from Carmy’s past. Aside from Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Matty Matheson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Edwin Lee Gibson, Abby Elliott and Oliver Platt will all reprise their respective roles from the first season.

Despite not being in the trailer, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul alum Bob Odenkirk is also joining the series cast in a guest role. Get ready to witness a rollercoaster ride of uncertainty, excitement, and culinary chaos when The Bear season two drops on FX on June 22.
